    Solar Panel Installation Best Practices WARNING: Always wear safety glasses and protective gloves when working with batteries. IMPORTANT: For the solar panel to adhere properly, both the application surface and air temperature must be above 45 F (7 C). • Switch unit controls to the off position and disconnect the positive battery cable.
  • Page 4 5. The panel can be secured with supplied screws, rivets or plastic fasteners. • Drill 4mm holes (x10) for the screws. • Drill 5mm holes (x10) for the 3/16” rivets. • Drill 4.5mm holes (x10) for the plastic fasteners. Figure 4: Solar Panel can also be secured with supplied fasteners. 6.
  • Page 5 7. Connect panel harness to charge controller and secure controller with cables ties onto the support channel as shown below. 8. Remove the fuse from the extension harness, attach harness to the controller and route to the alternator as shown below.
