Offset and angle values The offset and angle value indicate how well the machine is aligned at the coupling. - Page 43 Horizontal Adjust Adjust the machine if needed. 1. Horizontal Thermal compensation During normal operation, machinery is influenced of different factors and forces. The most common of these changes is the change in the temperature of the machine. This will cause the height of the shaft to increase. This is called thermal growth. To com- pensate for thermal growth, you enter values for cold condition compensation. -
