How to use your satellite phone

1. Go outside to an area that has a full view of the sky.
NO TREES OR BUILDINGS OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW.

2. Fully extend the antenna on the phone. Press and hold
down the power button on top until the phone turns on.
3. The phone will search for a signal. Once the screen
displays "Registered" you are ready to make and receive
calls.

To call a landline or cell phone :
Dial 00 > Country code > Area code > Phone number
For example : 0019419551020
(USA/Canada country code is 1 - Do not include dashes or
spaces)
To call a satellite phone to a satellite phone :
Dial 00 > Satellite phone number
For example : 00881612345678
(Do not include dashes or spaces)
To call the satellite phone from a landline/cell phone :
Dial 011 > Satellite phone number
For example : 011881612345678
(USA / Canada based callers - Do not include dashes or
spaces)
For international callers :
Dial 00 > Satellite phone number
For example : 00881612345678
(Do not include dashes or spaces)
To use 2-stage dialing (post-paid plans only) :
1. Dial 480-768-2500
2. Wait for the voice prompt, then enter the 12-digit satellite
number
3. The system will then re-route the call for you.
Select "Menu" > "Voicemail" > "Call Voicemail" (this will
automatically call the Iridium voicemail number,
+881662990000).
• Wait for the voice prompt asking you to "re-enter the
Iridium phone number you are trying reach". Enter your
Iridium phone number (For example : 881612345678). You
will then be forwarded to your personal voicemail greeting.
• Press the * key to interrupt the greeting, and enter your
password (last 7 digits of your Iridium number, see below)
to access your personal mailbox.
• Follow the voice prompts for menu options.
By default, your voicemail password is the last 7
digits of your Iridium phone number. For security
reasons, please change it using menu options.
1. Select "Menu" > "Voicemail" > "Call Voicemail" through
the phone's onscreen menu.
2. Enter your 12-digit satellite phone number when
prompted.
3. When you hear the greeting, "You have reached
mailbox....", interrupt this by pressing the star key (*).
4. Enter your voicemail password. The default password is
the last 7 digits of your phone number.
TEXT MESSAGING
Sending a text to a cell phone :
1. Select "Menu" > "Messages" > "Create Message".
2. Type your 160-character message.
3. To send the text select "Options" > "Send" > "Add".
4. Select a stored phonebook number or enter a new
number.
You must be outside and "Registered"
to send and receive messages .
Sending a text to an email address :
1. Compose your text starting with the email address you
wish to send it to. For example: "email@domain.com having
a great time!"
2. When you select "Send" and it prompts you for a
destination number, enter 00*2 then press the OK key.
3. If the phone successfully sends the message it will
display "Message Sent"
Receiving an SMS message on your Iridium
satellite phone is free. Replying to that message
will be charged at your normal SMS rate.
Using the online messaging portal :
1. Go to http://messaging.iridium.com/
2. Enter the satellite number into the "To" field
3. Enter a reply email so the replies go to your email inbox
4. Enter your text in the message field and click "Send
Message"
Sending a text from an email :
Send an email to : 8816_____@msg.iridium.com
(Example: 881612345678@msg.iridium.com)
Remember to keep your character
count below 160 characters.
