3. Preparing for use The first time If you wish to use Birth Alarm Premium for the first time, you must perform these steps once: • Unscrew the Birth Alarm Premium and remove the red label which is placed against the pole of one of the batteries.

Push the SIM card into the slot until you hear a "click". Then release the SIM card again. The SIM card is now in the slot and the Birth Alarm Premium is ready to be used. When you want to remove the SIM card from the slot, gently push against the SIM card until you hear another "click".
Birth Alarm Premium (Led) lights To view the status of your Birth Alarm Premium, there are 2 status lights on your Birth Alarm Premium and 3 small lights on the inside that only relate to the internal LTE module. The status lights The status lights are on the long side of the casing.
The LTE lamps The LTE lamps are only visible when opening the Birth Alarm Premium. Normally, you don't need to read these lamps, but it may come in handy if you are experiencing problems with the mobile connection and contact customer service for this.
If you are using a prepaid SIM card, it is wise to keep an eye on your credit balance. With normal use, the call and SMS costs of your Birth Alarm Premium are minimal, but still check the prepaid SIM card credit regularly.

You can set the number of times the Birth Alarm Premium calls you and also the moment it sends you an SMS. By default, the Birth Alarm Premium will make 2 rounds of calls in the event of an alarm. 10. Testing Before you start using Birth Alarm Premium, it is important to test it to ensure that it works properly. You can easily do the testing yourself. • Preferably take the Birth Alarm Premium to where your mare is located.
Fitting the Birth Alarm onto the mare To use the Birth Alarm Premium in a girth or underneath the halter, it must be attached to the holder supplied as follows: • Carefully slide the Birth Alarm Premium into the holder as shown in the picture below.
11.2 Fitting the Birth Alarm beneath the halter If you want to use the Birth Alarm Premium beneath a halter, mount it as shown below using 3 tie‐ wraps. Make sure that the halter is slightly tight so that the Birth Alarm Premium hangs straight under the mare's jaw.
Premium stops ringing automatically after a few seconds. You can then call the Birth Alarm Premium back, which is also is free of charge. With this you let the Birth Alarm Premium know that you have heard his call and the Birth Alarm Premium will stop calling you. The Birth Alarm Premium only becomes active again when the horse lies down again after some time.
