Method of Operation
The Skimmer System is designed to recover free-floating hydrocarbon from any depth. There
are two types of Skimmers: Selective Oil Skimmers (SOS) and Specific Gravity Skimmers
(SPG). The floating intake head on the skimmer follows water table fluctuations.
Hydrocarbon first enters the skimmer through the floating intake head, and then travels down
through flexible, yellow tubing to the guide rod. The vaccum generated by any of the QED
product pumps pulls the fluid up the guide rod and to the pump.
Refer to the following page for the line of pumps offered by QED.
Alteration of the System
Do not change or modify the system without the express written approval of QED. To meet
the many different needs of users, additional sensors can be added to the system by QED.
