  • Page 8 BISS-MIT in default supports 22-bit rotary BiSS C encoder and Mitsubishi 2 wire (half duplex) communication. To use ITF-21-BISS-MIT with other number of bits of position data of rotary BiSS C encoder or Mitsubishi 4 wire (full duplex) communication, user need to configure the setting of ITF-21-BISS-MIT with PC software accordingly via USB-C.

    BiSS C Interface The BiSS C Master module of ITF-21-BISS-MIT use BiSS C (unidirectional) serial protocol. It is designed to work in a point-to-point configuration and must be installed in a “single Master, single Slave” network. Besides, it does not support line delay compensation.

    Max Allowable BiSS C Cycle of Adapter [ IMPORTANT! ] To ensure ITF-21-BISS-MIT function properly, the BiSS C cycle period should not exceed 102μs. Basically, ITF-21-BISS-MIT can support any situation as long as the requirement of Max Allowable of BiSS C Cycle of ITF-21-BISS-MIT of 102μs is adhered.

    When alarm 2A.N is triggered (where N = Alarm No. shown below) at MR-J4 driver, it means MR-J4 driver received at least one error from ITF-21-BISS-MIT. Refer to the corresponding alarm no. shown below for the root cause. Alarm No.
  • Page 12 The root causes of Mitsubishi Alarm no. 3 and 4 can be further diagnosed using PC software. Refer to diagnostic part of software. Troubleshooting for Mitsubishi Alarm 1. What will happen if driver is turned on without connected to ITF-21-BISS-MIT? Or 5V and Gnd of driver interface cable is not connected correctly. Answer: Mitsubishi Alarm 16.3 will be triggered.

    6. Setting Configuration The setting of ITF-21-BISS-MIT below is configurable by writing setting desired into the flash of ITF-21-BISS-MIT thru PC software via USB-C. Note: power cycle (power off and on of adapter) is required to take effect after configuration.

    The default BiSS C setting above in general can support most of the situations as long as the total encoder cable length requirement is ≤ 20m. The configuration setting of ITF-21-BISS-MIT will be read and shown in “Information” page as shown below. User can verify the configuration setting of the adapter to ensure compatibility with the encoder and driver. User can also check whether the firmware version is up-to-date.

Click on […] button to browse for the firmware file which is in “.rpd” format. After that, the checksum of the firmware file will be displayed.
  • Page 24 GST Reg No: 20-0410879-N 6. Sometimes, user want to verify whether the firmware download into ITF-21-BISS-MIT is successful or same as the firmware file browsed. To do so, click on verify icon button. It takes sometimes for the firmware to be read out from ITF-21-BISS-MIT flash memory.
