> > Upper thread tension adjustment
Correct thread tension (upper and lower) is a fundamental requirement for precise sew-
ing.
Types of tension:
A. Correct tension (Fig. F35)
B. Overtension (Fig. F36)
Slowly turn the tension adjustment knob (23) anticlockwise to reduce the pressure
(example: from "4" to "3").
C. Low tension (Fig. F37)
Slowly turn the tension adjustment knob (23) clockwise to increase the pressure (ex-
ample: from "3" to "4").
> > Hems sewing
1. Raise the foot (13) by pressing the foot lifting lever (8) upwards.
Place the fabric (cuffs or bottom of the trousers) under the foot (13) and press the
lever (8) downwards to lower the foot.
It is possible to pass the fabric into the appropriate compartment (25)
(Fig. F38).
2. Switch on the appliance by moving the selector (7) to "L" (minimum speed) or "H"
(maximum speed); the appliance starts (Fig. F30).
