Operation: Please see the "Operation & Tips For Your Radio Recovery Equipment"
sheet for general operating instructions.
Unique Instructions:
1. Start the transmitter's signal by removing the magnet, or by inserting the batteries.
2. Turn on the receiver's power by pushing the toggle switch UP to MAX Range On.
Select the channel on which your transmitter broadcasts. Use the CHANNEL
selector to choose the channel on which your transmitter broadcasts. For the exact
channel that will broadcast you transmitter collar's signal, see the frequency range
chart taped to the receiver's exterior. For best reception, we have programmed your
transmitter's unique frequency number close to the center of the channel. Use the
TUNE control to bring in the signal that is best for your ear.
3. Adjust GAIN control. At first turn up the volume to bring in the transmitter signal.
After you hear the signal, turn GAIN as low as possible. When your directional
antenna is pointed at the transmitter wearer, your GAIN is low and you can still hear
the signal, and the meter needle stays below 6 on the meter, you will get the best
signal direction.
4. To operate your receiver off a vehicle battery, insert the DC Power Cord's male
plug into the DC external power jack at the upper-back of receiver. Plug the other
end into the vehicle's cigarette lighter holder. The toggle switch on receiver face
can be pushed up to MAX RANGE ON or down to ATTEN.ON position.
5. Remember to keep the volume as low as possible. High volume drains the battery,
causes distortion and makes pinpointing more difficult.
6. To connect your antenna cable to the antenna jack on the lower-back of your
receiver, push the connector in and clockwise to the right.
7. If background noise can be heard, use an earphone plugged into the PHONE jack on
the receiver face. IMPORTANT- the proper sized plug should be used. Foreign-
made earphones for radios and tape players do NOT work well. Wildlife Materials
supplies earphones for this purpose.
