SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Allow sufficient space for airflow and service of the unit. See Fig. 2 for the required minimum distances between the unit, walls or ceilings. PIPING REQUIREMENTS IMPORTANT: Both refrigerant lines must be insulated separately. The minimum refrigerant line length between the indoor and outdoor units is 10 ft. (3 m). Refrigerant Piping: Line sets to be sized based on the connection size of the indoor unit. Each pipe should be insulated individually. Conversion Joints: The outdoor unit may include a package of conversion joints to facilitate installation of various sizes of fan coils. These joints are to be connected to the outdoor unit as needed to match the line set size.
INSTALLATION GUIDE Insulate each tube with minimum 3/8−in. (10 mm) wall thermal pipe insulation. DRAIN CONNECTIONS SYSTEM VACUUM AND CHARGE Install drains must meet local sanitation codes. CAUTION Install the outdoor unit drain joint Fit the seal into the drain joint, then insert the drain joint into the UNIT DAMAGE HAZARD base pan hole of the outdoor unit. Rotate 90 to securely assemble them.
