    Tool stop ➢ Reduce engine rpm to fast idling and stop the tool. ➢ Never increase or reduce the oil amount too fast. This will damage the hydraulic system on a long-term basis. ➢ When you are finished working, stop the Hoftrac engine, remove the ignition key and engage the hand break.

    Mounting/Dismounting/Working and Transportation Mounting Mounting the tool must be done at a plane and safe surface. Always pay close attention when mounting the tool to the machine; make sure that no persons are within range of the saw/blades, as these can cause injuries even when stationary.

    Transport position 1. Pull out the transport safety bolt. 2. Insert the transport safety bolt in the holes for transport position. When the ma- chine is switched off it must always be secured in transport position. 3. The arm is pulled back (and secured if it is a manually operated telescope). Safe guard is attached.

    Work position 1. Remove the safety guard from the cutting tools. Place the telescope in the work position. The unit is now ready for use. Use safety goggles if Hoftrac does not have a cab! 2. The angle of the arm system must be adjusted so the tool is working in a horizontal position and angled forward to +5°.

    Field of application The arm system is used for cutting hedges and small trees. The branch cutter is used for branches with a diameter of up to 95 mm without cutting open the Max. 45 branches. Branches with a diameter of more than 40 mm can be cut normally? Vertical cuts are allowed at an angle of no more than 45°.
  • Page 20 Branch Cutter: Never use the machine without fitting the belt cover. Branch Cutter: Extreme caution must be shown when knives, rotors and/or drive belt are cleaned; these areas have a lot of sharp edges. Always wear work gloves and safety goggles, and if possible, always use a tool to remove unwanted materi- al to avoid direct finger or hand contact.

    Operation Always start and stop the tool at the lowest pto rpm./ oil flow. All tools: We recommend that you start driving slowly, allowing the knives to reach the recommended speed. Adjust the cutting angle to be approximately 90° against the branches.

    Work tools Finger cutter Safety ➢ Head of operations must ensure that all maintenance, inspection and installation work is performed by authorized and qualified professionals, who after having read the instruction manual possess the necessary knowledge. Maintenance ➢ Only carry out service with machine shut off. The procedure for stopping the machine as described in the manual of the manufacturer must be complied with.

    Saws Mounting ➢ The saw blade must be mounted so the direction of rotation faces downwards (fig. 1). ➢ The saw must be mounted so the knives are moving in the direction of travel (fig. 2). ➢ The hydraulic hoses must be installed so that the knives are moving in the cor- rect direction of rotation.
  • Page 27 Maintenance ➢ After 2 hours operation everything is retightened. Saw blade bolts with 40 Nm. ➢ After 10 hours operation everything is retightened. ➢ All bolts are retightened/checked every 8 hours. ➢ Distance beadings are mounted 1 mm from the blades. If the distance exceeds 5 mm the beadings must be replaced.

    Belt chart It is very important that the belts are mounted correctly and tightened. If new belts are mounted these must be tightened with 370 Nm. After 3 – 5 hours of work the belts have given in and must be rechecked. Note!! The tension has changed.

    General maintenance instructions Lubrication After cleaning the machine: Lubricate all machine parts and extra equipment after each wash Hydraulic hoses Carefully check condition of all hoses during routine service. Make sure that the hoses do not rub against screws, bolts and the like. Daily inspect all hydraulic hoses and fittings to be in good order.

    Bushes and bearings Several main turning points have replaceable bushes or bearings. If these show signs of wear and tear they must be replaced. All bushes, bolts and bearings can be sup- plied from Weidemanns Spare Part Department. Storage The machine must be stored in upright position on the delivered machine support. This also applies when no tools are mounted.
