Liability Clause
Blue Star Chest Freezers are manufactured using the best materials available and conforming to the highest
safety standards applicable to freezers. The inner tank of each Blue Star Chest Freezer is made out of food-grade
material sourced from reputed organisations. Each Chest Freezer is also designed to hold the temperature of
pre-frozen material stored in it through power cuts lasting up to 6 hours*, under standard test conditions.
However, to ensure complete safety while operating a Blue Star Chest Freezer, certain aspects must be
taken care by the customer at site:
Blue Star Chest Freezers are designed to operate on 230V+/-10% single-phase power. Lower or
higher voltages may damage the Chest Freezer. Hence, operate the Chest Freezer only through a
good quality voltage stabiliser that maintains appropriate voltage conditions.
There should be no joints in the power cord (from plug to compressor terminals). Do not extend the
cable by any means of joint. Avoid multiple tapping for power connection.
Proper earthing of both the freezer and power connection is mandatory.
Chest Freezer should not be used for storage of any other material whatsoever apart from intended use.
Ensure proper earthing of the Chest Freezer's power line. Failure to do so may result in electric shock.
Clean the Chest Freezer, both inside and outside, periodically to maintain hygiene.
Check all wiring periodically for damage or fraying, and report for repair as soon as you notice any.
Damaged wiring may cause incidents of short-circuit and fire.
Ensure that all wiring runs through and along dry surfaces. Avoid any waterlogging or condensate
collection near where the wiring runs. This will prevent inadvertent electric shock.
Do not allow anyone, especially children, to touch the Chest Freezer. The outer body of the freezer,
especially the lower sections, may be very hot and may scald human skin.
Beware of moving parts when the grille is opened for maintenance and repair. Avoid injury to fingers.
Note: Blue Star's liability is limited to ensuring the operation of the Chest Freezer under standard conditions,
and repair to the machine in case of non-operation, as per the terms of our Warranty. Blue Star will not be
responsible or liable for any loss due to: incidents of fire or shock; other hazards/problems caused by the
use of substandard voltage stabiliser; improper cleaning/maintenance of the Freezer; damage to produce
or contamination of food products; etc.
