My jeep was recently worked on and the battery was unhooked. Now my speakers don’t play thru the radio. BT still works. Is there a reset code to fix this?

    Insane Audio head unit, please visit our support page. All Insane Audio head units are fairly simple to operate, but if you are new to the Android operating system or need some general assistance, then this guide is for you.
  • Page 4: Safety Precautions

    Keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road! WARNING! Never attempt to open your Insane Audio head unit or repair it yourself. Doing so could result in electric shock. Even worse – it’s guaranteed to void your warranty.

    SIX PACK: At the bottom of your screen you will see an icon with six squares grouped together. This is the main menu of your Insane Audio head unit. Clicking on the six pack will lead you to the app drawer where you can view all currently installed applications.
  • Page 7 Google Play offers millions of apps, many of which are free. And almost all of them will work with your new Insane Audio head unit! ( iPhone users, this is the App Store equivalent) The Play Store only works when your head unit is connected to the internet.
  • Page 8 To move an application from the App Drawer to your Home Screen, simply press and hold on the specific app and drag it where you want it to be. Almost any app can be made accessible from your Home Screen.
  • Page 9 It’s important to understand the differences between icons on your Home Screen and applications in the App Drawer. Icons on your Home Screen are simply shortcuts to applications. So you can move or delete these however you’d like. To delete an icon from your Home Screen, simply hold it down then drag it to the top of your screen until the red Trash bar appears.
  • Page 10 Deleting app shortcuts from your home page is not the same as deleting an app from the app drawer. DELETING FROM THE APP DRAWER PERMINATELY DELETES THE APP FROM THE HEAD UNIT! It is ok if this happens. Just follow the steps in Downloading Apps to re-download it.
  • Page 11 Home Screen. Your Insane Audio head unit already contains a bunch of cool widgets that we put on there for you. Widgets are found to the right of applications in the app drawer. To access them, press the six pack, then swipe the screen past the applications.
  • Page 12 To move a widget to your Home Screen, simply repeat the drag and drop method for apps. To delete a widget from your Home Screen, just drag and drop to the red Trash bar. Of course, you can always download additional widgets from Google Play Store.

    All Insane Audio head units come with extremely high quality, high resolution, fully capacitive touch screen displays. That means that not only does it look great, but you can navigate the system and access data in a far more enriching experience then ever possible before.
  • Page 14 You can adjust the brightness of your screen by swiping down twice from the top of the screen at the main menu and clicking on the brightness icon.
  • Page 15 When your headlights are on the unit assumes it is nighttime and dims the brightness. If your headlights are always on you will want to adjust this setting. 1. Click on Settings. 2. Scroll to Car. 3. Scroll to the bottom Factory Settings. 4.
  • Page 16: Setting The Date And Time

    There are two places where the time is set: the system Settings and the Clock Widget. The system Settings can be accessed by pressing the six pack. Then find the Settings icon.
  • Page 17 From the Settings menu, select System, and Date & Time.
  • Page 18 There are a lot of options here, but we recommend starting simple, and then playing around with advanced features as you get more comfortable. To that effect, turn off all three automatic time checkboxes, and then manually set your date, time and time zone. Note the widget clock can override the settings above.
  • Page 19 The Clock widget is on the main menu and has its own time controls as well as some pretty cool features. For example, you can set a “home” time zone. Then, when you drive to a different time zone, it will automatically add another clock and show both your home time and your local time.
  • Page 20 You can also add another world city that you'd like to display the local time for. Click on the “red globe” below the clock and click on you chosen city. Click the “back” button.
  • Page 21 Clicking “back” again produces 2 clocks on your “home” screen. With your time in a bigger and brighter font. To only show your current time, make sure there are no cities selected from the previous screen.
  • Page 22 There is a variety of ways to adjust the volume on your JL 3001. 1. Using your OEM center dash – if equipped. 2. Swiping down from the top of your screen and clicking on the volume button. 3. Using the volume paddles on your steering wheel.

    InsaneEQ gives you full control over how things sound inside your vehicle. There are 2 ways to control your sound. By pulling down from the top of any screen, or through Home.
  • Page 24 The first thing you will see when you open Insane EQ is the actual equalizer sliders. The sliders on the left control the base (low frequencies). The sliders on the right control the treble (high frequencies). Click the bottom left and right arrows to choose a preset like Rock.

    You can adjust your LED backlighting to be any color you’d like. To do this, first go to the Settings menu (accessible through the App Drawer), scroll down to CAR, then click on Element. In here, you can either choose from the preset solid color options, create your own color by using the sliders on the left, or select the rainbow option which will set the system to gradually fade through all colors in the rainbow.

    Your Insane Audio head unit is shipped to you from our factory with certain safety precautions enabled, however, this can be customized just like everything else on the system. IMPORTANT: Please use your Insane Audio head unit responsibly! Do not operate or attempt to watch video while driving.

  • Page 30 Watching video: When you are driving, your unit will automatically disable any video so as not to distract the driver. Checking this setting will allow the unit to play videos while your Jeep is in motion. Notifications: This setting will suppress notifications while the vehicle is in motion.

    Similar to adding music to media being accessed by your Insane Audio head unit, you can also add movies to your storage media. Your Insane Audio head unit will play videos in most modern file formats. Once you have videos on your microSD card or a thumb drive, you can access them in the Video app on the Home Screen.

    If you are looking for some good old-fashioned AM/FM radio, you can find the Radio app right on your Home Screen.
  • Page 38 Please keep in mind that digital radio functionality depends on what digital information is broadcast in your area. So your experience with these features may vary. You can tap on the AM/FM buttons at the lower right corner. To Seek to the next active station use the left and right arrows.

    Your Insane Audio head unit can connect to all kinds of different Bluetooth devices. For example, you can connect to your smartphone for both hands-free calling and media streaming. The first step is to launch the Bluetooth app by pressing the BT button.

    1. Always connect and disconnect FROM your phone TO the head unit. 2. As a general rule of thumb, we always recommend turning off Bluetooth on your phone when not in use. This will ensure a fresh connection every time, help keep your personal information protected and also improve your phones battery life.

    Do not turn your JL3001 Hotspot & tethering on. Your head unit is not a hotspot. This feature is here for a somewhat complicated technical reason, that makes other apps work, but it is not how your will connect to the internet.

  • Page 55 Once you have set up your Google account, you should change your app update settings to avoid any potential issues Google automatically sets apps to update automatically when on wifi, and when your head unit is connected to the internet it will always be through wifi. This can cause problems if apps start updating in the background and are unable to finish updating.

Just make sure apps have finished updating before you turn your head unit off.     CarPlay interface. Wireless CarPlay requires both Bluetooth and WiFi which means your JL3001 will NOT also be connected to the internet when using wireless CarPlay. So Wired CarPlay allows you to use CarPlay on your phone and ALSO use connected apps with our native interface.
