Operating Instruction
Adapter (Version A) for
Lightsignal-Decoder
from the Digital-Professional-Series !
Adap-LS-A
(set of 2 pieces) Part-No.:
>> finished module <<
Compatible for light signals with incandescent
lamps and light signals with light emitting diodes
and common anodes.
If a light signal-decoder LS-DEC will be extended
with the adapters Adap-LS-A:
is a digital control of light signals with
incandescent lamps possible.
is a digital control of DR-light signals with
light bars of company Erbert possible.
This product is not a toy! Not suitable for children under 14 years of age! The kit
contains small parts, which should be kept away from children under 3! Improper
use will imply danger or injuring due to sharp edges and tips! Please store this
instruction carefully.
Introduction/Safety instruction:
You have purchased the model railway adapter Adap-LS-A for
the light signal-decoder LS-DEC as a kit or as finished module.
The Adap-LS-A is a high quality product that is supplied within
the
Digital-Professional-Series
(LDT). The Adapter Adap-LS-A can be used together with the
Light-Signal-Decoder LS-DEC from version 3.0 (supplied from
2002).
We are wishing you having a good time using this product.
• Please read the following instructions carefully. Warranty will
expire due to damages caused by disregarding the operating
instructions. LDT will also be not liable for any consequential
damages caused by improper use or installation.
The finished module comes with 24 month warranty.
Connecting the adapter to the light signal-
decoder:
• Attention: Before starting the installation switch off the
drive voltage by pushing the stop button or disconnect the
main supply.
The adapters shall be plugged directly into the two 11 poles
clamps of the light signal-decoder and secured with the screws.
The signal connection wires shall be connected to the clamp
block of the adapters.
Working method:
The adapters Adap-LS-A work as amplifiers which can perform
via the light signal-decoder a realistic digital control of light
signals with incandescent lamps or light signals with light
emitting diodes which require constant working voltage.

The signal aspects will not be just switched over but realistically
up and down dimmed. Between the signal aspects there is a
short dark phase.
Important: The plug bridge J1 of the light signal-decoder has
always to be inserted while using the adapters Adap LS-A.
Picture 1 und 2 on the back side of this instruction shows the
wiring for the connection of four block-signals with
incandescent lamps.
The signals together with the respective lamps are shown directly
next to the clamp blocks.
By using an accelerated current power supply (picture 1) the
respective common wire to the signals has to be assembled with
a diode.
Two suitable diodes 1N4003 are included in the adapter supply.
By using direct current power supply (picture 2) is it absolutely
important to attend to the indicated polarity.
Picture 3 shows the wiring of four Märklin gauge-z signals
8939 via the light signal-decoder LS-DEC-DB and the adapter
Adap-LS-A. Please assemble the supplied two diodes 1N4003
into the common signal supply wire as shown in the drawing.
Picture 4 shows the wiring of two HI-signals with light bars of
company Erbert to the light signal-decoder LS-DEC-DR and to
the adapters Adap-LS-A.
Important: If there are series resistors soldered to the end of
the signal wires of the HI-signals do not remove them!
Also do not remove the diodes of the common signal supply
wires.
As described in the operating instruction of the light signal-
decoder the decoder receives the digital information in all
samples via the 2 poles clamp KL2.
