    FirstCall does not control, such as, telecomminica�ons networks, wireless cellular networks, and global posi�oning satellite systems. • All devices that use the mobile phone network, such as the FirstCall “Out and About” pendant, cannot be guaranteed to connect in all condi�ons. Please ensure that you are aware of the mobile phone signal coverage in areas where you may be travelling.
  • Page 5 • A service account will be sent every 12 months to the nominated Email address. If the outgoing call usage is in excess of the FirstCall “Fair Use Policy” an interim account may be sent. If any account remains unpaid for more than 21 days an addi�onal no�ce will be sent to your nominated postal address.

    Start Here The FirstCall “Out and About” pendant is normally supplied fully set-up and pre-programmed with all Contact phone numbers. All you need to do is follow these few simple steps. Unpack the Alarm You should have: • “Out and About” pendant pre-fi�ed with a neck cord or belt clip.

    Charging the Pendant The Charging Cradle A�ach the USB cable between the power adaptor supplied and the charger cradle, as shown. Place the pendant in the charger cradle. It will magne�cally clip into posi�on. Plug the power adaptor into a power point and charge the pendant for at least 3 hours.

    Switch the Pendant On To switch the pendant on - push the side bu�on for more than two seconds. The pendant will vibrate and the yellow light will start flashing once per second. A�er about one minute the yellow light will start flashing once every five seconds.

    Give all Family and Friends Contacts the informa�on sheet “Advice for FirstCall Contacts”. Let all Contacts know that you are about to test the FirstCall pendant. The first 3 Contacts will receive text messages and all Contacts may receive a phone call from the pendant.

    Fall Detec�on and Sensi�vity (op�onal) The FirstCall pendant has a fall detector which can trigger an alarm if it detects a fall event. The Fall detector is ac�vated if requested at the �me of ordering. The fall detector can be switched on and off, and the sensi�vity adjusted, by sending the pendant a text message.

    Reques�ng the Pendants Loca�on Your Contact’s can ask the pendant to send them its GPS loca�on. To request the pendants loca�on send the text messages below to the pendants phone number. Follow the format exactly. To request the pendants GPS loca�on, send: xxxxxxF xxxxxx is the six-digit order number on the rear of this manual.

    If the text format is incorrect the pendant will reply “invalid informa�on”. It is also possible to set a rectangular or irregular area by sending the pendant GPS coordinates, but this is complex and out of the scope of this manual. Please contact FirstCall for more informa�on.

    FirstCall will make changes to your Contact phone numbers for free for six months following the ini�al purchase. To request a number change within this period, please contact us. You can also make changes yourself by following the procedure below, but it can be quite tricky.

    There are many other func�ons that are not relevent to medical alarm applica�ons, and are not usually required. If you require any of the func�ons below ac�vated or changed, please contact FirstCall. Some are not supported by the FirstCall SIM account.

    Under this warranty, FirstCall Connect Pty Ltd will at its op�on elect to repair or replace faulty parts and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months from the �me of dispatch to the customer from FirstCall Medical Alarms.

    No�ces Your “Out and About” 4G/3G pendant medical alarm is similar to a mobile phone. Please take the following precau�ons that apply to mobile phones: Keep the pendant out of the reach of small children. � Although the pendant is water resistant to IP67 it is a good idea to dry the pendant if it has become wet.
