regular DeviFlex survey.

  • Page 3 5) Connect the DeviFlex to the PDA and enter the Online window. Align the bubble level on the Orientation Unit with Gravity Toolface (Gr. Toolface) of 0°. 6) Tighten the adjustment nut to keep the DeviFlex and the Orientation Unit aligned.
  • Page 4 8) Insert the DeviFlex with Orientation Unit into the drill string, and fasten it by rotating the handles clockwise. 9) Rotate the drill string until the side with the bubble level points towards north, or any known direction. Use complimentary optical sight for optimal accuracy.
  • Page 5 Mark the top and bottom of the drill rods to ensure no rotational movement occur as the drill string is lowered down. 12) Survey until the drill bit reaches hole bottom. Pull out drill rods to retrieve the DeviFlex and download data.
  • Page 6 15) Click “Merge Vertical” and enter the end depth of the vertical survey, and the hole index of the normal survey. Click “Start” . 16) The true borehole trajectory is now presented in the index of the oriented survey.
