This provides free hot water while still satisfying other household loads without power import during sufficient PV power production. EMMA LITE APPLICABILITY The standard Elite is designed for use with single-phase, split or three-phase grid-connected micro- (or larger) renewable energy generators that produce peak outputs of 0.5kW upwards, in conjunction with all types of renewable generators.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT S YSTEM I HAVE? Have I got power monitoring? If you have an Elite as described in Figure 1. Elite typical installation Then you have power monitoring via the Touch screen only. Have I got remote monitoring? If you have an Elite as described in Figure 1.
OPERATION OF ELITE Elite is a fully automatic system that starts up and runs automatically once installed. It uses a colour touch screen as its interface to display and allow configuration of its settings. Each display unit is used to monitor one phase. DEFAULT SCREEN The standard, or default, display shows the following information: Figure 4: Elite Default Display Screen...
GENERAL OPERATION AND FREQUENT QUERIES ANSWERED. The full Elite system with all the add-ons has a number of basic roles to fulfill. The most basic roll the Elite system fulfills is to divert any excess renewable energy that would otherwise be exported to heat the hot water tank for free.
ELITE SCREEN NAVIGAT ION SETUP MENUS Pressing the Settings button on the screen brings up the settings menu screen. Figure 5: Settings Menu Screen Boost Timer – This button opens the Boost Timer Settings. (Only applicable with a Power Throttle) ...
BOOST TIMER SETTINGS SCREEN Figure 6. Boost Timer Settings screen. The Boost Timer settings screen allows the user to select a duration for the immersion to stay on when the boost button on the home screen is pressed. The button highlighted in green indicates the current duration that is set.
HEATING (HEATING TIMER SETTINGS) Figure 7. Hot Water Timer Screen Pressing the Heating button brings up the heating timer screen. This screen allows the Elite to control the immersion element as a standard hot water control timer. This screen can be used to set times to coincide with Night saver electricity in Ireland or economy 7 in the UK.
HW TEMP (HOT WATER TEMPERATURE) Figure 8. Hot Water Temperature Screen Pressing the HW Temp button brings up the Hot Water temperature settings screen. This screen only applies where a Power Throttle is part of the Elite System. The Hot Water Settings Menu allows the user to set two temperatures. ...
DATE AND TIME Figure 9. Date and Time Screen The time and date are a settable option on the E Elite but if they are GSM enabled they will automatically synchronise with the correct date and time once the GSM has established a connection with the Network. The unit will only begin logging data for the remote dashboard once the Time and Date has been downloaded from Cool Power Products server through the GSM network.
INSTALLER (PASSWORD CONTROL) Pressing the Installer button on the settings menu brings up the password control menu as described in Figure 10. Password control menu. This menu requires a password for access so as to prevent accidental changing of the parameters contained in the installer screen.
ELMON dashboard using the Zigbee screen. The monitoring registration and access procedure are covered in a separate document “EMMA LITE Monitoring Setup doc V1.0”. For information purposes the Settings menu contains the software version in the top right hand corner of its screen. Other than this the Settings menu should only be used by the installer.
TEST MENU (ONLY APPLICABLE WITH A POWER THROTTLE) The test menu is used to prove that the power throttle is working as expected. It is normally used by the installer to prove that the communication link with the Power Throttle is working correctly and also to prove that the CT’s are installed correctly by creating a known load on site and observing import rise on the home screen.

METERS The Meters display is accessible from the Home screen. It displays cumulative import, export, demand and output power since the unit was installed in kW hours. This is useful information when used properly. If you read this regularly and enter the readings into a spreadsheet you will build up a picture of how Elite is managing your micro-generator’s output against your household load.
