An estimation of the level of exposure to vibra-
tion should also take into account the times
when the tool is switched off or when it is run-
ning but not actually doing the job. This may sig-
nificantly reduce the exposure level over the total
working period.
Identify additional safety measures to protect the
operator from the effects of vibration such as:
maintain the tool and the accessories, keep the
hands warm, organisation of work patterns.

Assembly
Battery Charging
A battery that is new or has not been used for a
longer period does not develop its full capacity
until after approx. 5 charging/discharging cycles.
To remove the battery 6 press the unlocking but-
tons 5 and pull out the battery downwards. Do
not exert any force.
The battery is equipped with a NTC temperature
control which allows charging only within a tem-
perature range of between 0 °C and 45 °C. A long
battery service life is achieved in this manner.

A significantly reduced working period after
charging indicates that the battery is used and
must be replaced.
Observe the notes for disposal.
Changing the Tool (see figure A)
Before any work on the machine (e. g., main-
tenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during
transport and storage, set the rotational di-
rection switch to the centre position. Unin-
tentional actuation of the On/Off switch can
lead to injuries.
Pull off the screwing-depth stop 4 toward the
front. Pull out the screwdriver bit 1. If required,
the universal bit holder 11 can also be pulled off
and replaced.
After changing the tool, reattach the screwing-
depth stop 4.
Operation
Starting Operation
Inserting the Battery
Use only original Bosch flat shape battery
packs with the voltage given on the type
plate of your machine. The use of other bat-
tery packs can lead to injuries and fire haz-
ards.
Set the rotational direction switch 8 to the centre
position in order to avoid unintentional starting.
Insert the charged battery 6 into the handle so
that it can be felt to engage and faces flush
against the handle.
Reversing the Rotational Direction
The rotational direction switch 8 is used to re-
verse the rotational direction of the machine.
However, this is not possible with the On/Off
switch 7 actuated.
Right rotation: Set the rotational direction
switch 8 to the "R" symbol.
Left rotation: For unscrewing screws, set the ro-
tational direction switch 8 to the "L" symbol.
