NFORMATION
The Pentron Model
IIF-400 utilizes
mechanical
and
electrical
facilities for
making
and
playing
back tape
recordings.
Since
this unit
employs
the Pentron TM-56
tapetransport
mech-
anism. this service
manual
may be used when servicing
the mechanical
functions of
any
re-
corder
using the
TM-56
mechanism.
This recorder
has
two
speeds
(3
3/
4
and
7
I/ 2
inches
per
second)
and
is
designed
for
duai
track recordings,
giving two
full
length recordings on
a
single
reel
of recording
tape.
Any size reel up to

may
be
used
on
this
machine. A
VU Meter
is
used
to simplify
ttre
ie-
cording
level
setting.
Recordings can
be madg
from a radio,
television receiver or
phono-
graph. in addition to
those made
directly
from
the
microphone. Recordings
can be played
back
through
the self-contained
speakers
or
an external speaker may be used through
use
of
the

Spkr.

is
designed
to
operate
on
60
cycle,
110
to
125
voits,
AC
supply
only.
