KENNEDY thoroughly recommends reading these instructions before using the pump,
even if you have used one before. Reading these instructions carefully and understanding
them fully will enable you to assemble and use the pump in the correct manner.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
Only use the pump for the purpose for which it is intended.
Be careful not to spill any grease on the floor as this can cause a serious
health and safety problem.
Always clean up any spills immediately using the correct methods laid down in
the safety data sheet for the grease being dispensed.
DESCRIPTION
This is an easy to operate high pressure manual greasing system that is used to provide
volume greasing where power is not available. The pump develops 3500psi (240Bar) and can
be used to clear blocked grease nipples.
Designed for use with most greases, however trouble free greasing is assured with the use of
greases up to No.2 consistency ie. recommended for use with light and self collapsing greases.
Fits: 5 gallon (20litre) pails.
Delivery: 1.25gms per stroke (1.2oz per 28 strokes)

1. Unscrew the Flange Nut (9) from the
pump body
2. Insert the Pump Tube (8) through the
Drum Cover (10) and press firmy against
the Pump Body (12).
3. Replace the Flange Nut (9) over the
Pump tube (8) and screw tight onto the
bottom of the die cast pump body to
hold the drum cover in place.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Insert the Follower Plate (5) into the pail
of grease
2. Push down firmly onto the top of the
grease in the pail until grease emerges
from the Rubber Grommet (7).
3. Insert the Pump Tube (8) through the
Rubber Grommet (7) and press down
until the Drum Cover (10) rests on the
rim of the Pail of grease.
4. Hand tighten the three Thumb Screws
(11) to fix the Drum Cover (10) to the

top of the Pail.
Problem
1. Pump fails to prime

2. Grease leaks
3. Pump does not grease
ASSEMBLY
4. Screw the High Pressure Delivery Hose
(4) into the Pump Outlet (3).
Use a thread sealant (not included) to
create an air-tight joint.
5. Attach the Carry Handle (1) to the end of
the Lever Handle (2) using the Machine
Screw and Nut (13), making sure it is
tight before use.
5. The pump is now ready for use. Place
the Nozzle (6) onto the nipple and pump
the handle until grease ouses from the
connection between nipple and nozzle
Note: If using a partly filled pail of grease it
is important to settle the remaining grease
in the tub, remove any trapped air bubbles
prior to installing the pump assembly.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Cause
Remedy
Pump has not been in use
Pump needs to be primed. Put some oil
for some time
in the pump through the grease outlet
Follower Plate not seated
Ensure the Follower Plate is sticking to the
properly
grease in the pail
Air bubbles in the grease
Ensure the grease properly compacted
and settled in the container
Hose assembly not tightened Unscrew the hose assembly and use a
thread sealant on the threads of the hose,
refit the hose and tighten thoroughly
Grade of grease too heavy
Use No. 2 grade grease or lighter. Force
out old grease
Grease container empty
Changeover to a new pail or refill pail
Airlock in the grease caused
Replace Rubber Grommet in the Follower
by a damaged Grommet in
Plate
the Follower Plate
Dirt trapped between the ball Remove the pump assembly, clean ball
and piston
and piston thoroughly - reassemble
