  • Page 94: Testing The Wireless Coverage

Radio coverage When radio waves penetrate solid material, e.g. walls or furniture, they are attenuated, that is absorbed. Metal objects reflect the radio waves. The reflection occurs on nearly all metallic surfaces (e.g. mirrors, thermal insulation foils) as well as materials (e.g. metal door frames, steel or sheet metal cabinets) and also on structural steel. Thermal insulation with metal foil lining also reflects the radio waves.
