Adjust the motor automatic stop key so the motor will stop when the workpiece is cut off. 3. Adjust the stock stop to the desired length position. 4. Open the vice to accept the workpiece to be cut. If the piece is long in length, it will require some support. 5. Rotate the hand wheel to tighten the work piece. 6. Turn on the switch, and change the blade speed to best suit the workpiece being cut. Let the saw head down slowly to touch the workpiece lest the blade should be broken by 7. excessive pressure. Rotate the adjusting rod to obtain the correct pressure. 8. HELPFUL CUTTING HINTS The harder the material, the slower the cutting speed should be. 1. Use of cutting oil is recommended when the blade speed is higher. 2. To increase the feed, turn the feed screw adjustment (at the left of the base) counter clockwise: 3. to decrease turn clockwise. Do not adjust more than one turn at a time. Chester UK HV128 Bandsaw ...

6. Adjust the blade tension knob clockwise until correct, as to assure no slippage on the blade occurs. Do not tighten excessively. 7. Place 23 drops of oil on the table. 8. Replace the blade guard. STARTING THE SAW 1. Never operate the saw without the blade guards in place. 2. Be sure the blade is not in contact with the work when the motor is started. 3. Start the motor; allow the saw to reach full speed. 4. Do not drop or force the head. Provide the cutting force by letting the head down slowly into the work. 5. Correct feed is important, excessive pressure can break the blade or stall the saw. Insufficient pressure dulls the blade rapidly. 6. Never use a new blade to complete previously started cut. Do not start cutting on the sharp corners. 7. Chester UK HV128 Bandsaw ...
Turn the blade tension adjustable knob counter clockwise so that the blade might loosen a little. 3. Adjust the hexhole screw in the hole of the slide block, until the front blade wheel rises backward a little, so that the blade will be kept in position. 4. Tighten the blade tension adjustable knob until the blade obtains the correct tension. 5. Check the tracking by turning on the bandsaw. If the blade slides forward, go back to step 4 until the rear blade touches the flange of the blade wheel. 6. Disconnect the power to the machine. 7. Replace the blade guards. Attention: This is the most important adjustment on your saw. It is impossible to get satisfactory work from your saw if the blade guides are not properly adjusted. Note: There should be from 0.000 (just touching) 0.001 clearance between the blade and guide bearing. To obtain this clearance adjust as follows: 1. Each of the two guide bearings is mounted to an eccentric bushing that can be adjusted. Loosen the nut while holding the bolt with an allen key. 2. 3. Position the eccentric by turning the bolt to the desired position of clearance. (The blade must be completely vertical while it is cutting). 4. Tighten the nut, then the adjustable blade guide bearing will be fixed. 5. Adjust the second blade guide bearing in the same manner. BLADE TENSION ADJUSTMENT 1. Make sure the motor is shut off. 2. Press the blade lightly with left hand, make the rear blade against the flange of the blade wheel and feel the blade tension (so that the blade does not come off from the wheel). 3. Adjust the blade tension adjustable knob with the right hand, until the blade obtains the correct tension. FIG. 1 Chester UK HV128 Bandsaw ...
If the temperature of the spindle caused overheating or a strange noise, stop the machine immediately to check. (c) Keep the work area clean, release vice, cutter, workpiece from table, switch off the power source and clean chip / dust away from the machine. Then follow instructions on lubrication before leaving. 2. Weekly Maintenance (a) Clean and coat the leading screw with oil. (b) Check to see if the sliding surfaces and turning parts lack lubricant (lubricate if so). Monthly Maintenance 3. (a) Check if the fixed parts are loose. (b) Lubricate bearing, worm and the worm shaft to avoid wear. Chester UK HV128 Bandsaw ...
Yearly Maintenance 4. (a) Adjust the table to a horizontal position for maintaining the accuracy. (b) Check the electric cord, plug and switches at least once a year. This will help to avoid loosening or wear. LUBRICATION 1. Clean the bandsaw after each operation and coat with rustless oil. 2. Use SAE30 oil to lubricate components. 3. Lubricate the lead screw on the vice as required. 4. The drive gears are in an oil bath, they will not require a lubricant change more often than once a year, unless a leak or over heating.
