Quick Set-up Instructions for
Enhanced HT22 Tuner
If you are not familiar with the basics of this
HT22 Tuner please read the 'Detailed Setup
Instructions' first, then use the following step-
by-step procedure to install a new HT22
Tuner:
Step A) Connect the cables to the HT22 Tuner
as shown in the cabling diagram (See Diagram
page 4)and described below:
1)
Attach the TV Antenna Coax (75
ohm) or the Cable Coax (75 ohm) to the F
type connector that is nearest to the edge of
the Tuner Box.
2)
If the FM Tuner will be used, attach
the FM Antenna cable (75 ohm) to the F
type connector that is near to the center of
the Tuner Box.
3)
Attach the Pillow Speaker to the ¼
inch connector.
4)
Attach the video cable from the
Display to the yellow Composite video
input.
5)
Attach the Infra-Red Receiver unit
to the Tuner IR Port. This is only needed
during configuration and channel Auto-
Scanning. It should be removed after
configuration has been completed.
(Remember to unplug the Wall Mount
Power Supply before disconnecting the IR
Receiver.)
6)
Make sure that the Wall-Mount
Tuner Power Supply is unplugged from the
wall socket, now attach the cable from it to
the 12VDC Input Power socket on the HT22
Tuner box.
7)
Configure the IR remote for the HT22
Tuner using the instructions given on Page 6
"Basic Operations IR Remote Control"
1
Step B) Plug the Wall-Mount Tuner Power
Supply into a wall socket. About a half a second
later, the Pillow Speaker will almost
immediately emit a soft click, indicating that the
Tuner has completed its internal power-up
sequence.
Step C) *Turn ON power to the Display
manually, by using the Power On/Off button on
the Display.
Step D) *Use the SOURCE button on the
Display to select COMPOSITE1 or AV1 as the
input source for it.
*See LCD operation manual
Step E) Press the [On/Off] button on the Pillow
speaker. This activates the HT22 Tuner (the
factory default settings are shown on page 15).
The factory default is set at channel 2. There
should be a clear picture. If not, you can use the
Channel Up button on the pillow speaker to find
the first channel with a good signal.
Note: When using the HT22 Tuner with cable
TV... if a channel is found to have a picture but
no sound, or the picture has washed-out colors,
or a herring-bone shaped noise pattern, it
indicates that the Cable Mode may need to be
changed from IRC to HRC or vice versa. You
can make this change later in Step G.
Step F) Once a good picture is found, you can
view the Tuner Command Menu, via the On
Screen Display (OSD), by entering the two-
button command sequence <TV/VCR> +
<TV/VCR> on the IR Remote Control.(See
HT22 Tuner Command Menu page 12)
