RAY G3 Brushless Motors

Thank you for choosing a RAY Generation 3 brushless outrunner motor. Our brushless motors with neodymium magnets and a rotating
case are manufactured using advanced technology and high quality materials. The unique design of the motor gives extremely high torque
allowing the use of large diameter and high pitch propellers without the need for a gearbox. To enjoy trouble-free operation of your new
motor, please take your time to read through these instructions.
MOTOR INSTALLATION
Please note: the case of the motor rotates! Beware of loose wires, parts or RC flight equipment etc. It is a good idea to fit a special for-
mer separating the motor „from the rest of world". The RAY G3 outrunner motor design with its rotating case significantly increases
the need of a robust motor mount. We recommend the use of a folding propeller even with aerobatic models whenever possible.
If you are using your motor at the upper end of it's power range, please make sure that your motor really is securely mounted. The
appropriate firewall is e.g. 1.5-2 mm birch or beech plywood for C2822, 2-3 mm birch or beech plywood for C2826-36, 3-5 mm for
C35xx (the bigger diameter and/or length of the motor, the thicker firewall required). To change the direction of rotation, simply
swap over the connection of the outer two cables between the motor and speed controller, but leave the centre cable connection
as it is.
Regular Front Mount: The motor must be mounted on a rigid mounting with bolts of appropriale lenght screwed into the front
plate. There is a risk of the motor winding damage if the screws were longer. If the screws were shorter there would be risc of tearing
the screw off the thread in the front plate.
