IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS MAINS POWER SUPPLY 12V DC 1.0A This Set Top Box should only be used with the power supply supplied with it, or of the same specifications. The use of an incorrect power supply can cause damage to the device or personal injury. Disconnect the device from the mains before starting the instillation procedure or maintenance. OVERLOADING Do not overload the wall outlet, extension cord, power board or adaptor as this may result in electric shock or fire. LIQUIDS This device should not be exposed to liquids of any type. Please ensure that the set top box is placed in a dry area. Do not allow any container holding liquids to be placed on or near this device. CLEANING Turn the Set top box off and then disconnect the power supply from the wall before cleaning. Use a soft damp cloth only on the outer case of this device. Do not use solvents of any type to clean this product. VENTILATION The ventilation slots on the top of this device must be left uncovered to allow proper airflow through the unit. Do not stand the device on soft furnishings or carpets. Do not stand other electronic device on this device. CONNECTING TO THE AERIAL OR THE TV Turn the device off and disconnect from the mains before connecting or disconnecting the cable from the aerial or TV. • If the Set top box is placed in a TV unit or bookcase, ensure that there is adequate ventilation and airflow around the device. • Only place the set top box on a stable surface away from the edge. Dropping the set top box may damage the device or cause personal injury. LIGHTNING, STORMS or NOT IN USE Turn the set top box off at the wall and disconnect the aerial during thunderstorms of it the device is to be left unattended or unused for long periods. This will prevent damage to the device due to lightning strikes and/or power surges. 10. EXTRANEOUS OBJECTS Do not allow objects of any type to be inserted through the ventilation slots on the top or bottom of the device. Objects inserted in to the case may be exposed to high voltage and cause personal injury, damage to the device or fire. 11. REPLACEMENT OF PARTS During the first 12 months after purchase, LASER Corporation Holdings Pty Ltd or an Authorised service agent must carry out all warranty work. Any work performed on this device by an unauthorised person or company will void the warranty. REAR PANEL CONNECTIONS 1. ANTENNA INPUT Antenna input jack for connecting external aerial to HD set top box. 2. ANTENNA LOOP OUT For connecting an antenna lead to another device such as a TV, PVR or VCR. 3. COMPOSITE VIDEO OUT Connects analogue video (RCA) out to your display device. 4. AUDIO LEFT/RIGHT OUT Connects analogue audio output to your display device or amplifier. 5. COMPONENT VIDEO (YPbPr) OUT Connects to the YPbPr input on your TV. 6. THE REMOTE CONTROL Prior to using the remote please fit the supplied batteries to the back of the remote. Ensure the terminals on the batteries match the markings on the remote. Incorrectly, fitted batteries may cause damage to the remote. If the set top box is not to be used for extended periods remove the batteries from the remote. INSTILLATION There are three ways you can connect the HD DVB‐T set top box to you TV, VCR or other devices. Please refer to the manuals or documentation for the TV, PVR, VCR or other device that you are planning on connecting the set top box to for instructions on the best method of connection. Composite Video Connect an aerial lead (not supplied) from an external digital capable antenna to the Antenna input on the rear of the set top box. If required connect an aerial lead from the Loop out on the rear of the set top box to the TV, PVR, VCR or other device. Connect the yellow plug on the composite cable to the Composite Video out plug on the rear of the set top box. Connect the red and white plugs to the Audio Left/right Out plugs on the rear of the set top box. Connect the other end of the composite cable to the corresponding plugs on the rear of the TV or other device. Component Video Connect an aerial lead (not supplied) from an external digital capable antenna to the Antenna input on the rear of the set top box. If required connect an aerial lead from the Loop out on the rear of the set top box to the TV, PVR, VCR or other device. Connect a Component Video cable (not supplied) to the Component (YPbPr) output on the rear of the set top box and connect the other end of the cable to the Component Video input on the rear of the TV, PVR, VCR or other device. Connect the red and white plugs from the Composite cable to the Audio Left/right out plugs on the rear of the set top box and connect the other end of the cable to the Audio input plugs on the rear of the TV, PVR, VCR or other device. INSTILLATION Connect one end of the HDMI cable (not supplied) to the HDMI plug on the rear of the set top box and connect the other end to the rear of the TV, PVR, VCR or other device. Note: Only the HDMI connection supports 1080i, 720P, 576P & 576i modes. Connect to a Digital Amplifier Some Digital amplifiers may require the HDMI cable to be connected to the amplifier and then a loop cable be connected to the TV. Please refer to your amplifier documentation for the best connection methods. If your Digital Amplifier uses an optical input connect an Digital Audio Optical cable (not supplied) to the rear of the set top box and connect the other to the Optical input on the rear of the amplifier. Powering on the set top box. Connect the small round plug from the supplied AC adaptor to the rear of the set top box and plug the adaptor in to the wall socket. Please ensure that all other connections have been made and the device is located in the correct position before switching the wall plug on. Turn the TV on and select the input that matches the connection method used to connect the set top box to the TV. Automatic Channel SCAN After powering on the set top box the first time after purchasing, the "No channels available. Press OK to search channels." message will be displayed.
