    2. Before using the machine Fitting the belt clip The belt clip is factory fitted. For your convenience it can be fitted to either side of the driver. • Unscrew the Phillips screw. • Fit the belt clip to the other side of the machine.

    3. Using the machine Forward / Reverse • Select the direction of rotation by pressing the forward/reverse switch (A). The forward / reverse switch has a lock function and cannot be used when the trigger is depressed. CAUTION: Ensure the driver has come to a complete stop before changing direction.

    Cutting procedures CAUTION a. DANGER: Keep hands away from the cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on the auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade. b.
  • Page 32 • If the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator. Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below.

    4. Using the machine Before switching the machine on Caution! Carefully check the following points each time before operating the machine. 1. Ensure that the saw blade is securely fitted. 2. Make sure all fixing screws and clamping mechanisms are securely tightened.

    4. Maintenance and cleaning The machine requires very little maintenance but must be kept clean and free of dust at all times. Pay particular attention to the ventilation slots and blow out using compressed air if necessary. Changing the saw blade Remove the battery from the saw before carrying out any maintenance or adjustments.

Use a suitable detector to locate and avoid cables, pipes or cable conduits that may be hidden beneath the surface. Plunge cutting is only possible in softer materials such as softwood, plasterboard and polystyrene.
