WAPA
Wireless Access Point
The WAPA wireless access point is
Silversphere's newest wireless RF receiver,
making installation easier than ever: simply
program the device into your system profile,
set the 10-key DIP switch, and hang it on the
ceiling or wall.
When properly implemented, multiple
WAPAs work together to create a self-healing
mesh network; however, in its simplest
implementation, a network could consist of one
HWNA wireless network router and a single
WAPA wireless access point.
Though they do require an HWNA to work,
these wireless RF receivers can be used in
conjunction with Companion One systems
already using WRMA hardwired RF receivers
and an HWDA wireless network router. This
compatibility grants preexisting wireless
installations an easy upgrade path to expand
their wireless coverage.
Installation Instructions
WAPAs are designed to be mounted to interior
walls and ceilings or outside structures in
a water-resistant enclosure. (See WAPA
Installation Guide for greater detail.)
WAPAs are powered by plugging the provided
9 VDC adapter into a standard 110 VAC outlet.
If power fails, WAPAs have 4 NiMH AA
rechargeable batteries, which are kept charged
while the WAPA has normal AC power. The
batteries should be left in the unit charging for at
least 16 hours prior to removing power. WAPAs
are expected to survive up to 16 hours on fully
charged batteries.
