REMOVING TOP Open the top to the spyder position. N.B. The car can be configured in this way depending on the condition of use of the top: 1. 1. Electrically, use the open/close top switch. Opening and closing the top electrically 2.

Using the control, move the seats fully forward and fully recline the seat backs. Remove the seat belt bolts from both seats Extract the seat belts from the seats.

Open the cover and hold it in this position using the tool. Remove the front rollbar cover lid.

Unscrew the eight screws securing the rollbar cover frame. Remove the frame (1) and rear lid (2) of the rollbar cover.

Remove the two rollbar cover gaskets. Unscrew the four loudspeaker grille screws and remove it.

Unscrew the two bolts securing the rear glove box and remove the front panel by pushing it towards the car's rear side. With a flat head screwdriver, detach the lower top hatch tie-rod ball joint.

Depressurise the top's hydraulic circuit with the screw on the pump, having first removed its securing push fitting with the special tool. N.B. Only use this procedure if the emergency open/close top procedure has not been applied.

Use the special tool, to remove the four rear vertical carpet push fittings and remove it from the car. From both sides, unscrew the side screw securing the rear seat back finishing.

From both sides, unscrew the lower screw securing the rear seat back finishing. Unscrew the four upper screws securing the rear seat back finishing from the four sides of the car.

Unscrew the six front screws securing the rear seat back finishing. Extract the passing slot (1) from the slot in the rear seat back finishing (2)

Disconnect the two emergency open/close top cable connectors from the rear glove compartment and remove the latter from the car. Disconnect the parking sensor buzzer at the side of the RH speaker. N.B. The parking sensors are accessories available on request.

Unscrew the four loudspeaker screws. Disconnect the connector and extract the loudspeaker from its mount.

Unscrew the fastening screws for the seat belt pulley ring from the top frame. Remove the belt loops by unscrewing the fastening screws.

Disconnect the pretensioner connectors. Detach the speaker, buzzer and pretensioner cables from their clips.

Disonnect the top power connector pins (1) and car control connector pins (2). Unscrew the screws securing the the front top frame to the body and their washers. There are two side and two centrally-located screws.

N.B. Two earth cables are located on the LH side of the car. From the top housing bay, unscrew the two screws and disconnect the earth cables. Move the top to the position shown in the figure below (two operators required). N.B.

On each side unscrew the two side locknuts securing the top frame to the body, from inside the top housing bay. Detach the 25 securing knobs using the special tool, then remove the inner cover lid.

Remove the plastic clamps from both the pull-down motors. Disconnect the two connectors on each of the pull-down motors. Detach the pull-down motor cables...

Remove the three securing push fittings on both sides of the top housing bay lid using the special tool. Remove the cover actuator hydraulic hose clamps and pull-down motor cable clamps (four in all).

After releasing the cables, extract the cable guide grommet from its seat. Remove the tool and close the cover.

Open the luggage compartment, unscrew the seven screws and remove the luggage compartment hinge cover. Remove the spare wheel support.

With the special tool, remove the push fittings securing the side luggage compartment panels and remove the panels themselves (Figure 1 and 2).

Remove the luggage compartment covering. Using a flat head screwdriver, disconnect the actuator stem from the cover goose necks.

On each actuator, unscrew its locknut, taking care not to damage the teflon and metal bushings. Close the luggage compartment and open the cover. Open the top manually and reposition the special tool (two operators).

From the top housing, extract the actuators and their cables and place them at the side of the bodywork. Remove the two door strip brackets by unscrewing their nuts.

Place the cables on the top in a secure position and after having fitted it in a harness, lift it out of the car. IMPORTANT Make sure not to damage the car's bodywork while removing the top...

RE-INSTALLING THE TOP Two operators are required. Use a hydraulic lift to position the top on the car (Figure 1). N.B. Make sure to position the end of the top between it's housing bay and the stop (Figure 2).

Fit the four front screws and washers which secure to the top to the car body. Position the actuators and the electric cables to the bodywork side.

Depressurise the top hydraulic circuit using the special pump screw. Close the top and position the special tool (this procedure requires two operators) to hold the cover open.

On each side, fit the side top nuts on the car body.

From the pasenger compartment, engage the top (Figure 1). N.B. Check that the strip features a uniform thickness of 5 mm between the top and the body (Figure...

Tighten down the four front top screws to a torque of 25Nm (Figure 1) and the four side nuts to 25Nm (Figure 2).

Lock the earth cables in the top housing bay (Figure 1). N.B. Two earth cables are located on the LH side of the car (Figure 2).

From both sides, position the four plastic clips in their seats and fit the cover actuators in the luggage compartment through their slots. N.B. Fit the plastic clips so that their points are facing downwards. Secure the actuator hydraulic hoses and the pull-down motor cables with the clips.

Pass the actuator hydraulic hoses and the pull-down motor cables through their cable guide grommets and fit them in their respective seats. Attach the two connectors for each pull-down motor. Leave 10cm of slack in the pull-down motor cables, and secure them to the cover goose necks.

Use plastic clips to secure the cables to the pull-down motors. On both sides, secure the top housing covering with its four push fittings, after having inserted the covering under the housing bay strip.

Close the cover and open the luggage compartment. Working on both sides, fit the two Teflon washers onto the securing pin (1)for the actuator and install the actuator (2)itself. N.B. The hydraulic hose must be positioned underneath the actuator. Fit another teflon washer, a metal washer and secure the actuator with a locknut.

Close the luggage compartment and check the cover closes properly with its lock (Figure 1) N.B. If the cover does not close correctly, adjust the nuts on the lock (Figure 2).

Working from the luggage compartment, install the actuator rods on the goose neck pins. Working from inside the passenger compartment, connect the top power(1) and car controls connector (2).

Open the cover and pressurise the hydraulic circuit.

Close the top electrically and check that the pins engage properly with their seats in the cover and that the top strip is snug against the cover strap. N.B. If the pins do not engage properly, adjust the central locknut (1), while for the strip it is necessary to move the pin horizontally using the side adjuster screw (2) (Figure 2).

Open the top and cover using the special tool.

Mount the seat belt loops onto the top frame and tighten the screw securing the upper pulley ring to a torque of 40Nm (Figure 1) and the lower screw to a torque of 40Nm(Figure 2).

Attach the parking sensor buzzer connector, located on the LH side of the RH speaker. N.B. The parking sensors are accessories available on request. Attach the seat belt pretensioner connectors and secure them to their brackets.

Secure the speaker, buzzer and pretensioner cables with their respective clips Attach the speaker connectors and fit the speakers in their mounts. N.B. The connector must be oriented towards the front of the car.

Secure the speakers with their four screws. Connect the two top emergency open/close cable connectors onto the rear glove box.

Fit the seat belts through their slots in the rear seat back finishing after fitting the guides. Secure the rear seat back finishing to the body with the six screws, tightened to 4Nm.

On both sides, secure the rea seat back finishing with its four upper screws. Lock the entire rear glove box by tightening the two fastening bolts to a torque of 4Nm .

N.B. Suitably align the door strip with the top lever hatch (Figura 1). Secure the door strip with its bracket and tighten the two nuts to a torque of 8Nm (Figure 2). Run the procedure on both sides.

On both sides, screw in the lower rear seat back finishing screw. On both sides, screw in the side rear seat back finishing screw.

Install the speaker grilles on both sides and secure them to the rear seat back finishing with the four screws (Figure 1). N.B. Fit the grille inserts into their seats on the seatback finishing taking utmost care (Figure 2).

Fit the inner cover panel and secure it with its 25 push fittings. Fit the rear vertical carpet in the passenger compartment and secure it with its four push fittings.

Working from the top housing bay, fit the top hatch tie-rod ball joint (1)onto its respective pins. N.B. To seat the ball joint correctly, use the special adjuster nut (2). Position the two rollbar cover gaskets.

Position the rollbar covering frame (1) and rear lid (2). Screw in the eight rollbar covering frame screws.

Fit the front rollbar covering lid. Close the cover, open the luggage compartment and secure the RH side panel with its three push fittings.

Fit the LH luggage compartment side panel with its two push fittings. Fit the spare wheel shelf.

Screw in the seven luggage compartment hinge cover panel screws. From inside the passenger compartment, fit the seat belts in their guides and tigten down their bolts to 40Nm.

OPENING AND CLOSING THE TOP ELECTRICALLY CAUTION When operating the top, make sure that the space available is sufficient for safe performance of the procedure and that there are no objects in the way or persons near the moving parts. In the event of a hazard, release the top operation pushbutton to stop its movement.

Press the front end of button A on the central console to open the top, or the rear end to close it, and hold it down until the operation is completed as indicated by the multifunction display light switching off. N.B.

IMPORTANT If the warning light on the multifunction display continues to flash after completion of the procedure, the top or top covering are not properly fastened and they could be damaged when the car is moving. In this case, open or close the top and repeat the operation When pressing the top operation pushbutton, the light on the multifunction display switches on permanently, but with dim intensity it means that the battery is partially discharged.

MANUAL EMERGENCY TOP OPERATION In the case of a breakdown of the hydraulic operation system, the top can be closed manually if the car's electrical system is in perfect working order. CAUTION Manual operation of the top for emergency closing requires the presence of two persons in order to prevent personal injury or damage to the car.

Before you start Turn the ignition key to the STOP position for several seconds to allow the pressure in the hydraulic system to be released and then turn the key to MAR. N.B. Take the flat-head screwdriver out of the tool bag supplied with the car and wrench A attached to the upper inside part of the rear storage compartment.

Slide off the cover B, which is pressure-fitted and protects pushbuttons 1 and 2. The pushbuttons have the following functions: 1 - pushbutton for the electrical locking of the top covering locks 2 - pushbutton for the electrical locking of the retaining locks for the top's rear pins. IMPORTANT Upon completion of the emergency top closing procedure, refit the pressure-fitted cover B to prevent pushbuttons 1 and 2 from being pressed unintentionally.

Top closure Remove the cap which is pressure-fitted and which plugs hole C behind the passenger seat; use the screwdriver to unscrew the hydraulic unit valve to release some of the oil pressure in the circuit. Remove the cap which is pressure-fitted and which plugs hole D behind the driver's seat; press the fastener using the screwdriver or wrench A until the top covering locks are released (you may have to tap the screwdriver or wrench to release the locks).

Lift the top covering E manually and keep it open while extracting the top from its seat. Remove the top from its seat until the front part is near the windshield frame. IMPORTANT Keep the top covering lifted manually to prevent it from re-closing. Lift the rear part F of the top and lower the top covering until the hooks G are resting on their respective locks.

While keeping the rear part of the top lifted, press pushbutton 1 to attach the top covering locks. IMPORTANT Before proceeding with the closing procedure, ensure that the two top covering locks are properly fastened. If not, try pressing pushbutton 1 again and if necessary, release the locks by pressing the fastener with the wrench and pressing pushbutton 1 again.

Press the hooks on the rear part of the top and press pushbutton 2 to secure the hook locks. Keep pushbutton 2 pressed until the locks are properly fastened.
