ADJUSTABLE TUBING INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Before installing the adjustable tubing, read the labels on the tubing sections to distinguish the end from the side tubes. Always
install tubes so that the labels can be read properly, not upside down. Warranty will be voided if labels are removed! The end tubing
sections (weight bearing sections) can also be distinguished from the side tubing sections by the heavier gauge metal inner tube.
NOTE: Hole patterns in the end and side tubes are spaced so that adjustments can be made in one inch increments.
1. Install the side tubing sections (14) first. Make sure the outer tubes with the labels are installed toward the
front of the truck.
2. Depress the outer tubing push-pin (17) on the labeled end of the side tubing section and insert it into one the
front top corner brackets. The push-pin will snap into place when properly aligned.
NOTE: Outer tube push-pins lock the tubes into the top corner brackets. Inner tube push-pins lock
the inner and outer tubes together.
3. Depress the inner tube push-pin (16) on the outer tube with the holes spaced about 5 inches apart and extend
the tube toward the rear top corner bracket. Snap the tube in place in the rear top corner bracket.
4. Depress the inner tube push-pin on the tube with 5 holes spaced about 1 inch apart. If necessary, slide the
inner side tube to a position which allows both inner tube push-pins to snap in place.
IMPORTANT! Make sure all four side tubing section push-pins are fastened in place.
5. Tighten the base brackets to the rail track by rotating the fastening knobs clockwise until tight.
HAND TIGHTEN ONLY!
6. Install the end tubing sections (15) in the same manner as the side tubing sections.
IMPORTANT! When properly assembled, the side tube adjustments should be the same. Width adjustments
may vary from front to rear due to the aerodynamic shape of some trucks.
Once assembled, adjust end tubes outward in 1 inch increments to tighten the rack.
ADJUSTING THE RACK LENGTH
1. Remove the end rear tubing section and side tubing sections.
2. Loosen and slide the two rear base brackets and attached corner post assemblies to the desired position.
3. Insert, adjust and fasten the side tubing sections into position.
4. Tighten the base brackets in place.
5. Insert the end rear tubing section and fasten in place.
NOTE: If the side tubes are completely collapsed and a smaller rack span is desired:
1. Remove the end rear tubing section and the side tubing sections.
2. Remove the inner side tubes and the rear outer side tubes from the labeled front outer side tubes.
3. Remove the push-pins from the ends of the rear outer side tubes and insert them into the first hole, toward the
rear, of the front outer side tubes.
4. Insert the side tubes into the front top corner brackets and snap into position.
5. Slide the rear base brackets and attached corner post assemblies forward and connect to the shortened side
tubes.
6. Tighten the base brackets in place.
7. Insert the end rear tubing section and fasten in place.
WARNING!
Never use this rack without all four horizontal tubes and all other components in place. This rack is designed to
function as a complete unit. It will collapse and may cause injury or property damage if not supported by all components.
