Welcome to your new Archon controller! This guide will help you through the initial setup of your new device and get you up and running quickly. Before you know it, you’ll be controlling and monitoring your aquarium in ways you only dreamed of before! Initial Setup: After confirming you received all of the items listed, connect your new Archon controller to the power bar(s) with the bus connector(s), plug the iTemp probe into the iTemp port, and connect power to the Archon with the supplied 9v power supply.

Outputs Tab This page will show all outputs currently available for your Archon System. Clicking the gear icon on each output will allow modifying the settings for that specific output. Module Name: This will change the name for the entire module.

Examples of Output Setups On/Off Function Current Function: OnOff On Mode: The output starts in the “off” position. By clicking this box, it will immediately set the output to the “on” position. Channel Default: This will set the channel to be either on or off if the power bar looses communication with the Arhcon controller. Light Settings - Basic Current function: Light Timer: Select from the menu to tie this channel to a timer for on/off times. Lunar (This is based on a 29.5 day cycle) (This function will only work with specific modules such as the MLC or ALC) Current Function: Lunar Maximum: Maximum brightness of the lunar pods Ramp Time: Length of time the lunar pods will ramp up to and down from the Maximum setting Show Alarms: This will allow the channel to be overriden by specified alarms and be turned either on or off during the alarm period.
Multi-Timer Current Function: MultiTimer Timers: Allows you to set 1-3 distinct timers to activate the channel. On at Night: This specifies how the channel will react to the night mode. If you un-click this box, the channel will not run during your nighttime hours. Delay out of Standby: This will set the length of time the channel will delay after the standby has expired.
Controller Current Function: Controller Input: Select the input you would like to control this channel. Sort by: This will sort the inputs by their type (ie. Temp, pH, etc). Setpoint: This is the level where the channel is to be activated/deactivated Hysteresis: Amount of fluctuation from the setpoint until the channel is triggered again.
Heater, Chiller, or Fan Current Function: Heater, chiller, or fan function Input: select the temperature probe that will be used to control this input Set point: Desired temperature of the aquarium Hysteresis: Hysteresis is the amount of allowable difference from your desired temperature before the heater/chiller turns on, to avoid constantly turning on/off. Rate of Flow: Rate of flow from the Dosing Pump in ml per minute (The DP1 is calibrated at 30ml per minute). The Archon will automatically do all the calculations needed to adjust the dosing pump timing, incuding dosing to the millisecond.
Wavemaker (This is for non-controllable powerheads plugged into a power bar) Current function: Wavemaker Timer: Select a timer or create a new timer to control the length of time the wavemaker is on/off. Wavemaker type: A and C are on at the same time while B and D are on at the same time, opposite of A/C. Delay out of Standby: Time the channel is delayed after the standby has expired (useful for water changes).
Return Pump/Skimmer Current function: ReturnPump or Skimmer Delay out of Standby: Time the channel is delayed after the standby Channel Default: This will set the channel to be either on or off if the power bar looses communication with the Arhcon controller. Float Switches Current function: FloatSwitch On Input: Select the switch input that will turn the channel on. Default is set to closed for triggering; select the “On When Open” box to change this setting. Off Input: Select the switch input that will turn the channel off. Default is set to closed for triggering, select the “Off When Open” box to change this setting. Users now have the ability to use multiple switches to turn on/off the float switch, or the same input can be selected for both channels.
Advanced Wavemaker/APC Wavemaker AdvWavemaker: This is for use on 0-10v or PWM ports only. APCWavemaker This is for use with the APC module. Current function: AdvWavemaker/APCWavemaker Maximum: Maximum power of the pump (percentage). Minimum: Minum amount of power for the pump (percentage). Pulse time: Set the duration of each pulse, down to the millisecond.

Performing updates to Hardware and Firmware: Go to the System Page of the Archon. If there are updates available, you will see this in the image below: The box that says UpdateHardware, or UpdateSoftware will appear.
