PPlications IN-LINE OR SUBMERSED OPERATION 1. Verify that the pump size fits the application without dramatically restricting the flow. Consult your local dealer or manufacturer’s guidelines for the proper size and model of ViaAqua® pump. 2. Do not reduce the input diameter of the pump 3. You must incorporate a pre-filter when operation for a water circulation, waterfalls, ponds and fountains. 4. Replace the impeller if there are any signs of damage or excess wear. 5. Failure to maintain a ViaAqua® pump will cause permanent damage to the impeller and/or pump. Routine maintenance is of the utmost importance to keep you pump working well. SUBMERSED 1. Place pump in the desired location 2. If place in a pond: Raise the pump off the bottom of the pond by a min. of 6 inches when installing. 3. Use Teflon tape to connect the threaded pipe adapter to the output of the pump. 4. Place the gasket onto the barbed pipe adapter, now using Teflon tape hand tighten the barbed pipe adapter to the threaded pipe the adapter. 5. Connect the flexible tubing to the barbed pipe adapter. Insure water tightness with a hose clamp. EXTERNAL 1. Place the pump in desired location 2. Using Teflon tape connect the threaded pipe adapter to the intake and output of the hydrant water pump. 3. Place a gasket on the barbed pipe adapter, now using Teflon tape hand tighten the barbed pipe adapter to the threaded pipe the adapter.

aintenance To insure a properly operating pump: Clean pump, impeller and intake strainer every 3 weeks. Failure to do so will cause premature failure of the pump. 1. Disconnect the pump from the power supply prior to removing the pump from the water. 2. Remove the prefilter. Rinse out prefilter sponge of debris. 3. With a Philips screw driver loosen the four screws on the volute. Now, remove the volute. 4. Once the volute is removed, clean well. Now verify the impeller is free of all dirt and debris. 5. Remove the impeller and clean well. 6. Once the impeller is removed, slide both the impeller and shaft out of the main body of the pump and clean well. Do not use any soap detergents during cleaning. 7. After the impeller and shaft are cleaned, use a small brush to clean inside of the motor housing. 8. Reassemble above parts and your ViaAqua® pump is again ready to use. Confirm that all the washer and bushing a reassembled properly. Failure to do so will cause permanent damage to the pump. 9. Replace the impeller if there are any signs of damage or excess wear. NOTE: If the water flow is to decrease, it’s a clear sign that debris is inside the impeller or the prefilter is clogged. It is the aquarist’s sole responsibility to insure the pump is maintained.Failure to do so will cause permanent damage to the pump. Hydrant Pump Parts A.
