HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide System Description System description provides you with an overview of your ipVG and of the operating requirement for ipVG. This chapter provides information on mounting, security advice as well as information on the device and the ports.
ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Mounting and Setting up ipVG is designed for use in specific ambient conditions. Conditions deviating from these can cause damage to the device, or to the recorded data. Warranty will be voided in this case. Please maintain the ambient conditions described below when using your ipVG device.
HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide System Environment 3.4.1 Overview of Software for Operation, Alarm Verification, and Configuration ipVG is a standalone unit. Once installed and configured, it reacts to events, records these on a continuous or on an event-triggered basis, transmits and/or saves video and/or audio data, alarms to local and remote receiver units, and additionally logs protocols locally.
ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Storage Medium Video data integrity To prevent manipulation of digital image data, video data cannot be changed by PC applications to be played back into the frame storage device. This ensures ipVG containing only video data originally recorded by ipVG. Which data will be stored on the storage medium? As well as the video and audio data (possibly including further transaction data), additional information and settings are stored on the storage medium, so as to protect against unauthorised access for example.
Page 15
HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide If ipVG detects a functional storage medium after start up with option Use without hard disk drive (storage medium) activated, the option will be ignored and the storage medium will be used. If this fails during operation, all storage medium related errors will be read out until the next reset.

HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide Pin Assignment and Functionality General All device connections can be plugged and screwed in. It is recommended to remove the screw type terminal for wiring, especially of the terminal block. This makes wiring of incoming and outgoing lines more convenient. The screw type terminals are grouped by functionality.
ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Control Inputs, Error Relay, Tamper Protection Control inputs Depending on control input function and on device configuration, events can be triggered by active switch normally open, active switch normally closed, edge control, or permanent contact In addition, ipVG has the resistance-monitored triggers Normally terminated (10k), refer to "Wiring Variants for Voltage-monitored Control Inputs"...
HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide Wiring Variants for Voltage-monitored Control Inputs In addition to standard wiring of control inputs, the ipVG permits different types of voltage monitoring. Normally terminated The wiring variant Normally terminated allows different circuitry for "Normally opened" and "Normally closed". For circuitry with a resistance, a distinction is made between two different states: Not triggered: The figures show the safe state in each case (not triggered) of the detector line or the control input for the variants "Normally opened"...

ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Reset only the usernames and passwords Through this option, you can deletes only the usernames and passwords. To reset the device, follow these steps: 1. Switch the ipVG off, 2. Connect only control input 1 to ground, as shown below, refer to "Pin assignment terminal block" on page 3.
HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide Commissioning This chapter describes the basic procedure for successfully commissioning your ipVG and provides tips for configuration and design strategies. The online guide for CamControl LITE and CamControl PRO software provides further information on configuration software and the menus relevant to configuring your application. For clearness, the following information refers to CamControl LITE software.
ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis General Configuration Information Configure your system with all cameras connected and all final camera perspectives set, for best results. This enables precise calculation of images sizes detected in ipVG configuration mode. If possible, use conditional refresh mode. This method is more efficient than the option single image compression.

If the user clicks Do not report again, the transmitter will call to report the hard disk error the next time the error is detected again with device restart.
TCP/IP Crossover Connection from CamControl LITE to the Device Preparing the receiver PC Your HeiTel ipVG can be accessed when in its default status or following a device reset using the following IP address: 192.168.31.95 Note: The precondition for communication via a TCP/IP crossover network cable between the ipVG and the receiver PC with CamControl LITE is that the devices are located in the same IP address group (here: 192.168.31.x).

HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide Description of "Site archive" Features This chapter provides basic information on recording modes and the methods of their control. Refer to descriptions of the setup dialogs in the CamControl LITE and CamControl PRO software online guides. Storage Concept ipVG allows digital recording of up to 4/10 camera signals.
Page 36
ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Record preview images When accessing the image archiving device remotely over a low bandwidth connection, low-resolution preview pictures (256 x 128 pixels) can be stored in the archive. These preview pictures can be used to view the recorded pictures more quickly during remote access.
Page 37
HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide Flexible storage space allocation The illustration above shows flexible storage capacity allocation for permanent recording and event triggered recording. On the basis of the recording settings, CamControl LITE or CamControl PRO software calculate the required storage capacity. The calculated values are estimates, actual values may deviate due to changes in actual image data volume, proportion of motion, and selected resolution being considered.
Page 38
ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Optimised permanent recording This method can be combined with external sensors to optimise storage capacity. In this case ipVG only records in the event of the respective control input being activated or in the event of IntrusionTrace detecting motion.

HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide 11 Web Server and Web API ipVG devices have an integrated Web Server for transmitting live images and, if necessary, controlling PTZ functions. If you select this option (Recorder settings/Connections/Network (TCP/IP)/Web Server) one of these six standard connections is dropped in favour of up to four additional connections to PC, PDA or Smartphone browsers, refer to "Web Server"...
ipVG Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis 11.1 Activation of the Web Server and Web API The Web Server and Web API are always activated via the Network (TCP/IP) dialog, which you can find under the Connections node. The Web Server and Web API are deactivated in the factory settings. Web Server When the Web Server option is activated, one of the six default connections is dispensed with in favour of up to four Web browser connections.
HeiTel by Xtralis ipVG Product Guide 11.2 Web Server General When a user is working with the Web Server, then for security reasons a session is started and the Web browser saves a cookie on the relevant user's computer. Within one session a user has up to ten minutes to carry out an action (e.g., switch camera or quality / change live image viewing mode).
Page 54
