Gant MonoWave indirect HP cylinders have a single coil designed cylinder from our Wave range. for connection to an air source heat pump, such as the Grant Aerona³ range. If a source such as Solar Thermal or another These Installation and User instructions must be read carefully make of heat pump is to be connected, please refer to the before you begin installing the cylinder.
1.12 INSULATION All Grant MonoWave Cylinders are insulated with CFC/HFC free, fire retardant, polyurethane foam injected between the stainless steel cylinder and the outer casing. This polyurethane foam has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than 3 and an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of 0.
For other makes of heat pump please check with the heat pump If you are in any doubt over the suitability of an Air Source Heat manufacturer for connection details. Pump (other than a Grant Aerona³ heat pump) for use with the cylinder, consult the heat pump manufacturer. HARD WATER AREAS...
The manifold can be installed in any position as long as it is 11. The cylinder must be registered with Grant UK within 30 days installed in the correct flow direction. Refer to the arrows on of installation.
EXPANSION VESSEL TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE A suitable expansion vessel with a pre-charge pressure of 3bar is RELIEF VALVE supplied for fitting to all cylinders. The temperature and pressure relief valve (T&P Valve) is supplied This expansion vessel must be connected into the cold water factory fitted to the cylinder.
TUNDISH ! NOTE ! A suitable tundish is supplied loose with the cylinder for fitting in the common discharge pipe from the T&P and Expansion relief valves. The discharge will consist of scalding water and steam. The tundish should be vertical, located in the same space as Asphalt, roofing felt and non-metallic rainwater goods may the unvented hot water cylinder and be fitted as close to, and be damaged by such discharges.

The control system shown in this diagram includes the Grant hot water priority relay (product code: HWPR1). This ensures that there can be no demand for space heating and hot water at the same time. Any demand from the programmer and cylinder thermostat for hot water will activate the relay, immediately interrupting any heating demand from the programmer.
COMMISSIONING, DRAINING DOWN AND SAFETY FILLING THE CYLINDER IMMERSION HEATER SAFETY CUT-OUT The immersion heater incorporates an independent non self- ! CAUTION ! resetting over temperature cut-out device to prevent excessive water temperatures. Refer to Section 5.3 for further details. The safety cut-out will operate if: Before filling the cylinder check that the immersion heater The wiring is incorrect.
COLD WATER DISCHARGE SETTING THE CYLINDER BY-PASS FROM TUNDISH The Grant MonoWave indirect HP cylinder MUST be fitted with a simple by-pass between the primary flow and return pipes at There are two reasons why cold water will discharge from the the cylinder when used with either a Grant Aerona³...
