Der Einbau der Versenkantenne
AUTA 4000 F 458 L erfolgt bei den genannten
Mercedes-Benz T-Modellen im Fahrzeugheck
rechts.
Im Kofferraum die rechtsseitige Verschalung
entriegeln und abklappen. Die Verkleidung
über dem Radkasten entfernen; dazu die
Dichtung an der hinteren Tür teilweise abzie-
hen; die Holmverkleidung nach Entfernen der
Leuchte ausrasten und abnehmen (Fig. 2).
Für die Kabelverlegung die rechtsseitige
Rücksitzbank und den Beifahrersitz aus-
bauen. Die Fußmatten entfernen, Trittleisten
abziehen und die Bodenauskleidung so weit
anheben, daß der Kabelkanal frei zugänglich
wird.
An der Einbaustelle nach Fig. 1 und 3 die
beiliegende Bohrschablone anlegen. Die
Bohrschablone unterhalb des hinteren Seiten-
fensters zwischen die zwei Kotflügelkanten
anlegen. Der Pfeil muß dabei auf die hintere
Ecke des Seitenfensterrahmens zeigen.
Das Karosserieloch anzeichnen und maßhaltig
einarbeiten (Toleranz beachten). Zum Schutz
des Lackes vorher mit Klebeband abkleben.
Die Bohrung entgraten, zum Schutz gegen
Korrosion die blanke Kante mit Grundlack
bestreichen und antrocknen lassen.
In der Zwischenzeit das Antennenkabel
zusammen mit dem bereits verlegten Lei-
tungssatz unter die Rücksitzbank, von dort
im Kabelkanal unterhalb der Einstiegsleiste
nach vorne und von dort zum Mitteltunnel
verlegen (Fig. 4). Verkleidung am Mitteltunnel
etwas anheben, das Antennenkabel zum Ein-
bauort des Autoradios hochziehen und ein-
stecken (evt. Durchziehdraht verwenden).
Das Antennenkabel ist geräteseitig mit einem
abwinkelbaren Stecker versehen. Dadurch
kann der Stecker je nach Bedarf gerade oder
als Winkelstecker verwendet werden. Das
Abbiegen über den Führungsrücken bitte nur
von Hand durchführen, damit Kabel und
Stecker nicht verletzt werden (Fig. 6).
Die Dichttülle von oben in das Karosserieloch
einsetzen (Fig. 5). Dies muß am unteren Ein-
stich der Dichttülle erfolgen. Der obere Ein-
stich liegt gut sichtbar über der Karosserie
(Fig. 5).
Das Antennenkabel an der Antenne fest-
schrauben, den Kugelstutzen mit etwas
Antennenfett bestreichen (AUTA 115) und die
Antenne von unten in die bereits eingesetzte
Dichttülle eindrücken (Fig. 5). Die Antenne mit
Halter am Schutzrohr gegen das vorhandene
Langloch am Karosseriesteg anschrauben
(Fig. 6 und 7). Teleskop ausziehen, Neigung
kontrollieren; danach Schrauben am Halter
fest anziehen.
Die Kappe von oben auf die Dichttülle aufset-
zen, leicht nachdrücken, bis sie einrastet und
an der Karosserieoberfläche gleichmäßig
anliegt (Fig. 5 und 6).
Das Masseband an vorhandenem Loch an
der Verstrebung festschrauben, Anlagefläche
vorher blank schaben und einfetten (Fig. 6
und 7).
Zum Einbau entfernte Verkleidung, Fußmat-
ten und ausgebaute Sitze wieder einbauen.

Installation instructions
The retractable antenna AUTA 4000 F 458 L is
assigned to be installed right-side in the rear
wing of the stated Mercedes-Benz T-models.
Unlock and fold down the right-side cover in
the boot. Remove the cover above the wheel-
house after partially removal of the back door
sealing. Unlatch and remove the cross-bar
cover after removing the lamp (fig. 2).
For cable installation detach the right-side
back seat and the passenger seat. Remove
the floor mats and the running-board cover
and lift the floor carpet until the cable duct is
accessible.
Apply the enclosed drilling template on the
installation point below the rear side window
between the two fender edges. The arrow
must point at the rear corner of the side win-
dow frame (fig. 1 and 3).
Mark the hole point and drill properly (regard
tolerance). Before drilling cover the paintwork
with adhesive tape for protection. Remove
the burr around the hole, spread the bare
edge with primer to protect against corrosion
and allow to dry.
In the meantime pass the antenna cable
together with the already installed cable set
under the back seat then inside the cable
duct under the running-board to the front
and from there to the centre duct (fig. 4). Lift
the carpet of the centre duct, pull the antenna
cable to the car radio place and plug-in (if
necessary, use a wire for drawing through).
On the radio side the antenna cable is fitted
with a flexible plug, which may be used
straight or angled, if required.
Please bend the plug only by hand to avoid
any damage of cable or plug (fig. 6).
Insert the sealing sleeve from top into the car
body hole (fig. 5). Make sure that the lower
groove of the sleeve fits to the body. The
upper groove should be clearly visible above
the car body (fig. 5).
Tighten the antenna cable to the antenna
case, spread the spherical antenna head with
some special grease (AUTA 115) and push
the antenna from below through the sleeve
inserted before (fig. 5). Fix the antenna with
bracket at the protective tube to the existing
oblong hole in the car body bar (fig. 6 and 7).
Extend the telescope, check the angle, then
firmly tighten the screws at the bracket.
Apply the cap on top of the sealing sleeve,
press slightly until snapping-on and fitting
tightly to the car body surface (fig. 5 and 6).
Fix the earthing tape to the existing hole in
the brace. Previously bare the connecting
surface and spread with grease
(fig. 6 and 7).
Replace all covers, floor mats and seats.
The telescope is equipped with a plastic
knob, which allows extending the antenna by
hand. If this knob is detached, the telescope
can be fully retracted and then only be exten-
ded by use of a special key (fig. 8).
The lowest tube of the antenna must be
always fully extended in order to ensure per-
fect reception.

L'installation de l'antenne escamotable
AUTA 4000 F 458 L se fait sur les modèles T
de Mercedes-Benz ci-indiqués à l'arrière droit.
Dans le coffre déverrouiller et rabattre le
recouvrement du côté droit. Démonter le
revêtement au-dessus du couvre-roue; à
cette fin, tirer en partie le joint en caoutchouc
de la portière arrière; éloigner le feu, déver-
rouiller et puis enlever le revêtement de la tra-
verse (fig. 2).
Pour la pose du câble, démonter la banquette
arrière droite et le siège du convoyeur. Eloigner
les moquettes, défaire les marche-pieds et
soulever la garniture du sol jusqu'à ce que le
caniveau de câble soit librement accessible.
Appliquer le gabarit de perçage ci-inclus à
l'endroit de montage selon fig. 1 et 3. Placer
le gabarit de perçage au-dessous de la glace
latérale arrière entre les deux bords d'aile. La
flèche doit montrer au coin arrière du cadre
de la glace latérale.
Marquer le trou de perçage sur la carrosserie
et percer précisément (observer la tolérance).
Auparavant coller un ruban adhésif pour
protéger la laque. Supprimer les bavures du
perçage, enduire le bord nu de laque de
base comme protection contre la corrosion
et laisser sécher.
Entre-temps poser le câble d'antenne avec le
jeu de câbles déjà posé sous la banquette
arrière, delà dans le caniveau de câbles sous
le rebord d'accès à l'avant et delà jusqu'au
caniveau moyen (fig. 4). Soulever légèrement
le revêtement du caniveau moyen, lever le
câble d'antenne jusqu'à l'endroit de montage
de l'autoradio et enficher (eventuellement uti-
liser un fil pour tirer le câble).
Sur le côté de l'appareil, le câble d'antenne
est pourvu d'une connexion à fiche pliable.
De ce fait, le connecteur peut être utilisé, si
besoin est, droitement ou comme fiche cou-
dée. Ne le tordre que manuellement par des-
sus le tube conducteur, afin que le câble et
la prise ne soient pas endommagés (fig. 6).
Placer le manchon étanche d'en haut dans le
perçage de la carrosserie, c'est à dire à l'en-
taille inférieure du manchon (fig. 5). L'entaille
supérieure doit être bien visible au-dessus de
la carrosserie (fig. 5).
Visser à fond le câble d'antenne à l'antenne,
enduire d'un peu de graisse la rallonge à bille
(AUTA 115) et appuyer l'antenne du dessous
dans la manchette déjà mise (fig. 5).
Visser l'antenne avec le support au tube pro-
tecteur contre le trou oval existant à l'entre-
toise de la carrosserie (fig. 6 et 7). Sortir le
télescope, contrôler l'inclinaison; ensuite ser-
rer à fond les vis au support.
Mettre le capuchon d'en haut sur le man-
chon étanche, appuyer légèrement, jusqu'à
ce qu'il encliquette et se trouve à fleur de la
surface de la carrosserie (fig. 5 et 6).
Visser à fond la bande de mise à la masse
au trou existant à l'entroise, commençer par
gratter à nu la surface de base et graisser
(fig. 6 et 7).
Remonter les revêtements, qui ont été enlevés
pour l'installation, ainsi que les moquettes et
les sièges démontés.
Le télescope est pourvu d'un bouton en
