CDP-300 provides an interface to read and send email messages, receive and answer SatPhone calls, and display ISAT-200 parameters. The DVI-300 along with the CDP-300 provides a rich interface for accessing the global voice and text communications features of the SKYTRAC System’s Iridium based ISAT-200. This combined interface is referred to as the CDU-300.

3.5.1 PRODUCT MOUNTING To operate as part of the CDU-300, the DVI-300 has to be mounted right below CDP-300. If the DVI-300 is mounted already, disconnect the connector for DVI-300 and remove the DVI-300 from the aircraft DZUS rails. Place the CDP-300 over the DVI-300 and secure them together using CDU-300 Mounting Brackets on both sides.

3.6.2 WIRING HARNESS Determine the location of the DVI-300 in order to determine wiring harness lengths. Create the wiring harness for your model of DVI-300 referencing applicable approved installation drawings for your airframe. Ensure the wiring harness complies with the requirements of FAA advisory circular AC43.13-1B.

300 uses a hysteresis window to switch between these two modes. If the DVI-300 is in bright mode, it will switch to dim mode only when the voltage increases above the dim mode threshold. If the DVI-300 is in dim mode, it will switch to bright mode only when the voltage falls below the bright mode threshold.
  • Page 23 The indicators are turned ON to full brightness in bright (day) mode. In dim (night) mode, the indicators brightness is set to medium level of brightness. At any time, the brightness of the indicators can be controlled manually using the keypad function key as indicated in the DVI-300 User’s Guide (DOC0499). 5.1.1.2 BACKLIGHTING The backlighting is ON in bright (day) mode.

 Use the DVI-300 to place a sat phone call to a ground based telephone. Confirm that the call is established and both parties can hear each other clearly. Adjust the system volume if necessary. To make calls using the DVI-300, voice communication must be enabled in the ISAT.
  • Page 25: Emi Test

Test Template (DOC0478) for EMI test procedures. The purpose of this test report is to verify that the operation of the DVI-300 does not interfere with basic aircraft systems and avionics. Since the DVI-300 cannot operate without an ISAT-200, the DVI-300 and ISAT-200 should be installed and function tested.
  • Page 26 DVI-300 Installation Manual Operate the DVI-300 unit for at least 10 minutes. During this time use the keypad on the DVI-300 to send several text messages. These operations will exercise the ISAT-200 to DVI-300 communications link. Because the DVI-300 only instructs the ISAT to place a phone call, it is not necessary to place test phone calls when testing the DVI-300.
