    The Refrigerant To have a functional air conditioning unit, a special refrigerant circulates in the system. The used refrigerant is the fluoride R32, which is specially cleaned. The refrigerant is flammable and inodorous. Furthermore, it can lead to explosion under certain conditions. But the flammability of the refrigerant is very low. It can be ignited only by fire.

    General Safety Precautions To prevent injury to the user or other people and property damage, the following instructions must be followed. Incorrect operation may cause harm or damage. Plug in power plug properly. Otherwise, it may cause electric shock or fire due to excess heat generation.
  • Page 7 General Safety Precautions Do not place obstacles around air-inlets or inside of air-outlets. It may cause failure of appliance or an accident. Do not operate or stop the unit by inserting or pulling out the power plug. It may cause electric shock or fire due to heat generation.
  • Page 8 General Safety Precautions The power supply cord with this air conditioner contains a current detection device designed to reduce the risk of fire. Please refer to the section “Instructions for use” for details. If the power supply cord is damaged, it cannot be repaired. It must be replaced with a cord from the product manufacturer.

    Instructions for Use Power supply The power supply cord contains a current device that senses damage to the power cord. To test your power supply cord, do the following: 1. Plug in the Air Conditioner. 2. The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button, you will notice a click as the RESET button pops up.
  • Page 10 Instructions for Use Wiring Security precautions You must follow the electric safety regulations when installing the unit. 2. According to the local safety regulations, use a qualified power supply circuit and air switch (thermal-magnetic breaker). Make sure the power supply matches with the requirement of air conditioner. Unstable power supply or incorrect wiring may result in electric shock, fire hazard or malfunction.

  • Page 13 Preparation Before Installation Location How to install: • Choose a location where the are no obstacles surrounding the unit, and where the plug is easily accessible. • Choose the installation space according to Figure A. The distance of obstructions from the inside window unit should respect the dimensions indicated on Figure A.

    Installation Procedure NOTE: Some models require installation of a top guide rail. If your model does, use 4 Type A screws to fix the upper rail at the outer case of air conditioner. NOTE: The top rail and the side panels are offset to provide the proper pitch to the rear of (5/16”). This is necessary for proper condensed water utilization and drainage.
  • Page 15 Installation Procedure Slide the panel all the way in and repeat on the other side. NOTE: Your air conditioner is designed to install in standard double hung windows with opening widths of 22” to 36” (Figure 4A, Figure 4B). Lower sash must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of minimum 15 ½”.
  • Page 16 Installation Procedure Step 3: Cut the sealing strip into proper length. Stick the sealing strip to the lower part of the window frame (see Figure 6). Figure 6 Step 4: Keep a firm grip on the air conditioner, carefully place the unit into the window opening so the bottom of the air conditioner frame is against the windowsill (Figure 7A and Figure 7B).
  • Page 17 Installation Procedure Step 6: Place the frame lock between the frame extensions and the windowsill as shown (see Figure 9A for wooden windows or Figure 9B for Vinyl-Clad windows).   • Page 18 Installation Procedure Step 8: To secure lower sash in place, attach right angle sash lock with screw as shown (Figure 11). Figure 11 NOTE: It is difficult to lock the windows with the sash lock for Vinyl-Clad windows, so you can use window itself to lock.

    Installation Procedure Removing the air conditioner from window Turn the air conditioner off and disconnect power cord. Remove sash seal from between windows and unscrew sash lock. Remove screws installed through frame and frame lock. Close (slide) side panels into frame. Keeping a firm grip on air conditioner, raise sash and carefully remove.

    Remote Control Operating your air conditioner properly helps you obtain the best possible results. This section explains proper air conditioner operation. IMPORTANT: • If you turn off the air conditioner, wait at least 3 minutes before turning it back on. This prevents the air conditioner from blowing a fuse or tripping a circuit breaker.
  • Page 22 Remote Control While setting the timer, timer time will be displayed; after entering timer status, residual timer time will be displayed. Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature display can be switched. Under unit on status, hold on pressing  or  buttons simultaneously for 3s to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature display. Ambient temperature display range in Celsius is from 0C to 60C.
  • Page 23 Remote Control During setting timer or after setting timer, press Timer button again to cancel timer and then timer indicator is off. Air Conditioner Remote Control Model 2 NOTE: This is a general use remote control. Some models do not have all the functions indicated by this manual.
  • Page 24 Remote Control / BUTTON Pressing  or  button once will increase or decrease set temperature by 1°F (°C). Hold  or  button for 1s, set temperature on remote controller will change quickly. Release the button after your required set temperature is reached.

  • Page 27 Electronic Thermostat 4. FAN BUTTON This button is used for setting Fan Speed in the sequence that goes from high, medium, to low then back to AUTO. 5. FILTER RESET BUTTON After fan rotates for 250 hours, lamp of cleaning filter turns on to remind customer clean it. NOTE: When user cleaned the filter, press Filter check button to clear the operation time.

    Cleaning and Maintenance Please always wait 3 minutes when turning unit off and then on again, and when changing from cool to fan and back to cool. This prevents the compressor from overheating and possible circuit breaker tripping. Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new. Be sure to unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards.
  • Page 29 Cleaning and Maintenance Cleaning the Front Panel NOTE: Do not remove the panel when cleaning it. Unplug air conditioner or disconnect power. Clean front panel with a soft dry or wet cloth. Air dry front panel completely. Plug in air conditioner or reconnect power. Repairing Paint Damage Check once or twice a year for paint damage.

    Maintenance Security Precautions Check whether the maintenance area or the room area meets the requirement on the name plate. It’s only allowed to be operated in the rooms that meet the requirements on the name plate. Check whether the maintenance area is well-ventilated. The continuous ventilation status should be kept during the operation process.
  • Page 31 Maintenance Security Precautions Disposing and recycling of the unit Label: The unit shall be labeled with data and note after scrapping and discharging refrigerant. Make sure the label on the unit can reflect the R32 refrigerant which it has been filled. Recycle: It's recommended to remove the refrigerant from the system before maintenance and disposal.

    Additional Information for Maintenance Area Check Prior to beginning work on systems containing FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS, safety checks are necessary to ensure that the risk of ignition is minimised. General Work Area • All maintenance staff and others working in the local area shall be instructed on the nature of the work being carried out.
  • Page 33 Additional Information for Maintenance Checks to the refrigeration equipment The following checks shall be applied to installations using FLAMMABLE REFRIGERANTS: ✓ The charge size is in accordance with the room size within which the refrigerant containing parts are installed. ✓ The ventilation machinery and outlets are operating adequately and are not obstructed.

Intrinsically safe components are the only types that can be worked on while live in the presence of a flammable atmosphere.

Prior to the task being carried out, an oil and refrigerant sample shall be taken in case analysis is required prior to re-use of reclaimed refrigerant.
