2.6.5.1 Input: Secure Erase –
Secure Erase is an "active low" input signal that within the Targa DTU is gated through a
Maxim MAX6817 switch de-bounce device before being sensed by the SATA disk in the
DTD. Upon detection, the SATA disk has been configured to execute a high speed
"Clear" and FLASH re-initialization sequence. Duration is approximately 60 seconds,
after which the SATA disk must be re-formatted for the target "file structures"

Indicates data transfer in process (Note: erase activity is not indicated)
Not capable of direct LED drive
LVTTL active high

Industry standard, USB Type B (Device) Port
Port 0 on industry standard "SATA Multilane" connector
Erase is activated upon the transition from logic high to logic low
Erase will not trigger if:
3.3Vdc
Voh min 2.4V @ -4ma
Vol max 0.4V @ 4ma
Vil max 0.7v
Erase logic is low at power-on
Erase logic is low when door closed
