INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) ELECTRONIC CONTROL TERMINOLOGY & COMPONENT DESCRIPTIONS The appliances described in this manual utilize an electronic control system which monitors, regulates, controls and displays a variety of functions and operations in the appliance. The table below defines some of the basic electronic control system terminology.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) BASIC ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM The electronic control system consists of high voltage and low voltage (See Figure 2-1 for High voltage Wire Schematic and Low Voltage Wire Schematic for the models ID-30C/I and ID-36C/I). Input operations for the electronic control system are performed at the control panel (UIM), with monitoring, regulat- ing and controlling taking place at the control board.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) CONTROL BOARD LAYOUT AND SUMMARY TABLE The electrical connection points on the control board are labeled alphanumerically. These labels correspond with the alphanumeric control board summary table, located on the wiring diagrams. By referencing the summary table, it is possible to identify which components are connected at which connection points on the control board.

Initial Boot-up Only Power Screen This screen appears after initial boot-up. To switch the unit on, touch the screen and current internal temperature readings will appear on the UIM. INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) Option Screen After a unit has been switched on, whenever the top drawer is opened the option screen will appear for 2 to 4 sec- onds, or from the home screen press the arrow icon. below are the different option screens depending on the model.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) Settings Screen Touching the settings icon (the cog) will bring up the settings screen, allowing the different settings to be adjusted. The settings screen scrolls in a loop, but the icons are shown in static format below (See Figure 2-14). Also see Settings Screen Quick reference Table (See Figure 2-15).

Touch the hour, minute or the AM / PM indicator to adjust the appropriate icons (See Figure 2-17). NOTE: Touching the Arrow key wil step back one screen.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) Temperature Units of Measure Screen (choosing Fahrenheit or Celsius Temperature Display) Choose the Temperature Units of Measure screen (°C/°F icon) to view or change the units of measure. To choose, touch the desired unit of measure (See Figure 2-20). NOTE: Touching the Arrow key wil step back one screen.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) Drawer Alarm Time Screen Choose the drawer alarm time screen (bell with clock inside icon) to adjust the amount of time it takes for a drawer to be open before the alarm chimes when a drawer is left open. Touch the appropriate “+” or “-” icon to adjust (See Figure 2-23).

When first entered, a password will be requested (See Figure 2-26). Press on the dashes until the appropriate sym- bols appear (See Figure 2-27).

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) FUNCTIONS OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM The following pages explain monitoring, regulating and controlling functions of the electronic control system. Supply Power to the Lighting System Power is supplied to the lighting system through the control board when the unit is switched ON by pressing the POWER screen.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) Monitor and Control Refrigerator Fan-Assisted, Off-Cycle Defrost (All-Refrigerator Units Only) Temperature signals from the refrigerator compartment and evaporator thermistor’s are observed by the micro- processor. During the off cycle defrost, if the refrigerator compartment temperature reaches high offset (calling for cooling) before the evaporator temperature rises to 38-44°F (3-7°C), no power will be supplied to the compressor, but the evaporator fan will be switched ON.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) Additional Regulating of Freezer Compartment Temperatures (All-Freezer and Combo Units) (Details of Controlling the Freezer Variable Speed Evaporator Fan Motor) During normal operation and when the drawers are closed, the variable speed evaporator fan motor in the freezer zone is supplied with 12V DC at all times from the control board, with the ground or neutral return, and to ensure proper speed commands the fan’s RPM is monitored at all times.

INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) INTEGRATED SERIES (DRAWERS) Monitor Ice Making System During an ice production cycle, the microprocessor observes the power supplied to the water valve solenoids. NOTES: • To allow ice to freeze fully and reduce effects of low water pressure, power to the ice maker system is interrupted for forty-five (45) minutes after each ice harvest.
