- Page 2 Tech Tips Safety Rules Danger Failure to obey the instructions and safety rules in the appropriate Operator's Manual and Service Manual for your machine will result in death or serious injury. Many of the hazards identified in the operator’s manual are also safety hazards when maintenance and repair procedures are performed.
- Page 3 TECH TIPS Step 1 Park the unit on level ground, chock the rear tires, deploy the stabilizers, lower the carriage or attachment to the ground, and steer the front axle all the way to the right. Step 2 Locate the brake adjusters on the front axle. Note: The cab side adjuster is on the back side of the axle.
- Page 4 TECH TIPS Step 3 Start the unit and release the parking brake. DANGER: Crush Hazard The next steps require you to work under the machine while it is running and with the parking brake off. Proceed cautiously and be sure the unit has been secured as described in step one.
- Page 5 TECH TIPS Step 5 Turn the square headed adjusting bolts (9/16 wrench) counter- clockwise until a slight torque is felt (both sides). This step will take multiple revolutions before torque is felt. Once torque is felt turn the square headed adjusting bolt (9/16 wrench) clockwise 3 full turns and 3 sides (3 3/4 turns).
- Page 6 TECH TIPS Step 7 Test the parking brake operation: With the engine running, set the parking brake and try to manually turn either front tire. If the tire will not turn, retract the stabilizers, remove the wheel chocks, and return the unit to service.
