Note: For the older model OctoConnector that is marked with 3
arrows on one side, attach the Adjustable ShoeMount2 Hardware to
the threaded hole that is marked by either one of the arrows that are
directly across from each other.
3. For heavy loads, such as large and extra large LiteDomes and
OctoDomes, the aluminum octagonal connector has a 3/8"
tapped hole, providing a more secure support. When using the
larger 3/8" threaded post it is necessary to remove the small
brass locking pin from the shoe mount hardware. Figure 9
4. The brass locking pin can be screwed into the reverse side for
convenient storage. Figure 10
5. Then insert the larger 3/8" threaded post, into the tapped hole in
the metal OctoConnector. Figure 11
Continuation of instructions for both methods A & B
1. There are two identical cold ShoeMounts provided with your
hardware for holding the flash and a radio receiver. Depending
upon your application, you may only need one at a time. Figure 12
2. Both of the ShoeMounts slide onto the horizontal rail and are
held in place with the setscrew tightened against the notched
side of the rail. Slide the shoe onto the rail and securely tighten
the setscrew knob. Figure 13
3. Depending upon the type of wireless radio trigger you are using,
you may assemble your shoe mount flash directly to the trigger
and then place the assembled pieces into the shoe. Figure 14
4. If the ShoeMount flash and receiver are combined, they should
be attached to a single shoe. Figure 15
5. To center your flash in the back of the SoftBox, loosen the
vertical adjustment screw and raise or lower your flash to a
centered position and tighten the screw. Figure 16
6. If you're using a radio receiver without a integrated hotshoe
you will need to use the second ShoeMount. Figure 17
