Unpack the mattress and control unit (pump). If you are using it for a client demo, be sure to keep the boxes and
mattress bag just in case you need to send the mattress back to Quart Vancouver or Quart Toronto.
This is a Micro Low Air Loss mattress. The controller will require approximately 25 minutes for full inflation.
Wipe down bed frame before placing mattress onto the bed deck. Place mattress on deck, arranging so that
air supply tubes are at the foot of the bed.
Secure the mattress to the bed frame with ties (black webbing) located on the underside of the mattress. Ties
at the head of the bed should be snug. Ties located toward the middle section and foot of the mattress should
be less snug, allowing the mattress to move as needed when the head or foot of the bed is raised/lowered.
Place control unit onto the frame of the bed (foot end) using handles attached to the back of the control unit.
Connect air hoses to control unit. The air supply hoses (grey connector) plugs into the controller with snap-in
locking tabs engaged.
Unzip cover and check to ensure all bladders (air cells) are connected to feeder tubes. Connections are
located below the bladders. There are connections on both the left and right side of the mattress. Ensure no
hoses are kinked. Zip the cover back up, ensuring zippers are all completely closed.
Check to ensure the CPR valve (orange twist valve) at the head of the bed is in the closed position.
Plug control unit into power outlet. Ensure the power cable is fed underneath the mattress to avoid becoming
a tripping hazard.
Turn on the main power supply switch located on the side of the controller, just above the power cord inlet.
The power button will illuminate orange (Standby) when control unit is plugged into electrical outlet.
Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. The Operate indicator will illuminate GREEN and the control
unit will be in operation.
Press the Auto Firm button to activate full inflation. Allow 25 minutes for controller to achieve full inflation.
After fully inflated, the controller will automatically switch to 3:1 alternating pressure mode. This can be seen
when the 'Alternate' light illuminates green. To choose Static mode, press the Mode button.
