- Page 3 CARE AND MAINTENANCE The K40 is designed to give you years of trouble-free service. There are no user- serviceable parts inside, and no maintenance is required. To keep your detector in new condition, do not expose the unit to moisture. Rain, dew, road splash, or other liquids can damage the internal components and reduce sensitivity of the K40.
