If possible, install a smoke detector in a hallway adjacent to the room (to reduce the possibility of occasional false activation from the heat produced by the heater).

    INSTALLATION – GENERAL NOTES Before beginning the installation of your heater, you should note the following precautions: WARNING: THE APPLIANCE AND FLUE-SYSTEM SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AS/NZS 2918 AND THE APPROPRIATE REQUIREMENTS OF THE RELEVANT BUILDING CODE OR CODES.   • Page 7 INSTALLATION – FREESTANDING HEATERS ONLY DO NOT CONNECT THIS UNIT TO A CHIMNEY FLUE SERVING ANOTHER APPLIANCE. NOTE: WHERE PASSAGE THROUGH A WALL OR PARTITION OF COMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION IS DESIRED, THE INSTALLATION SHALL CONFORM TO AS/NZ 2918. LOCATION Select a location for your heater with great care. Do not place your heater in areas of high traffic, near furniture or draperies.
  • Page 8 It is vital that the heater be installed the proper distance from combustible surfaces like wood, gyprock and curtains. The diagrams below show both parallel and corner installations.   • Page 9 INSTALLATION – FLAMME INBUILT ONLY ASSEMBLY There is a small amount of assembly required for the Flamme Inbuilt model. BAFFLE ASSEMBLY Ensure the baffle is installed in the firebox. It is located at the top of the firebox and locates on the two lugs inside the firebox.
  • Page 10 INSTALLATION – FLAMME INBUILT ONLY Refer to clearances as specified on the following pages and select a position for your heater. Allow for clearances in roof for flue system. Ensure heater is clear of any combustible materials within specified clearances. Install the flue through roof to manufacturer’s specifications to comply with the latest version of AS/NZS 2918.
  • Page 11 INSTALLATION – FLAMME INBUILT ONLY FLOOR PROTECTOR The diagram below shows the minimum dimensions (in millimetres) for the floor protector. A floor protector must be used under the appliance and needs to be a minimum 1022 mm wide by 1155 mm deep. The floor protector should consist of no less than 75 mm thick cement fibre sheet.

    USING YOUR HEATER FUEL This heater uses wood pellet fuel only. Do not use any other type of fuel. The diameter should be 6-8 mm, the length no more than 35 mm, moisture content no more than 10% and ash content no more than 1%.

MODE BUTTON This button allows you to cycle through the three modes of operation: Manual, Temperature or Weekly. 6. HOLD BUTTON For use in Weekly mode only: press the hold button to keep the heater running at the end of a programmed time period.

COMPONENT STATUS DISPLAY AREA There are six components: IGNITER This is located at the base of the burn pot. Combustion air travels over the hot igniter creating extremely heated air that ignites the pellets.
  • Page 15 DISPLAY SETTING THE TIME AND DATE 1. Hold down the Set button for 3 seconds to bring up the Set Data menu. 2. Press the Set button once to select the Set Clock option, then press the Set button again to start adjusting the time and date.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOUR FIRST FIRE Make sure your appliance has been properly installed and that all safety requirements have been met. Check that the ash drawer and firebox are empty. The ash drawer and door must be closed securely for proper and safe operation of the pellet heater.
  • Page 17 DAILY OPERATION MODES Manual - This mode allows you to set the heating power level, as indicated by the bars on the display panel. There are 5 power levels. The heat output and fuel consumption will remain constant regardless of room temperature. Temperature - This mode allows you to set your desired room temperature.
  • Page 18 DAILY OPERATION USING THE REMOTE CONTROL You can use the remote control to start the fire and make adjustments to the settings. SETTING THE TIMER When the heater is running in either Manual or Temperature mode, press the Timer button. Keep pressing the Timer button until the desired time period is reached.
  • Page 19 MAINTENTANCE MAINTENANCE MUST ONLY BE DONE WHEN THE HEATER IS COLD AND THE POWER IS OFF AND UNPLUGGED. Please be aware that any metal parts in the firebox can remain hot, even after the fire is out and after the shut down cycle is complete. Always use caution when handling any heater parts.

    MAINTENANCE CREOSOTE BUILD UP The products of combustion will contain small particles of fly ash. The fly ash will collect in the exhaust venting system and restrict the flow of flue gases. This build up is called creosote. Incomplete combustion, which can occur during startup, shutdown, or incorrect operation of the heater, will lead to some creosote build up which will collect in the exhaust venting system.

    TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE WARNING: Only perform any maintenance work when the heater is cold and the power is off and heater is unplugged. Problem Reason Solution Slow or smoky start-up Burn pot liner is dirty. Clean burn pot liner. Ensure there are no clinkers in the burn pot liner.
