    LabStrong™ Cop. NTRODUCTION The LabStrong™ Rapids™ Type I Water Purification System is an easy-to-use and economical Type I ASTM Water Purification System. This water system is ideal for any laboratory that is looking for a system that produces analytical grade water.     Cartridge Storage Shelf life is two (2) years from date of manufacture, provided cartridge remains as delivered from LabStrong™ in the sealed plastic bag. Don’t remove cartridge from bag until use. Keep cartridge away from heat. Exchange capacity is greatly reduced if resins are allowed to dry completely.

The Rapids™ Type I Water Purification System can be fed from a pretreated or tap water source. You may find that some municipal tap water supplies contain a high concentration of suspended particles, and dis- solved organic and inorganic materials that can decrease the life of the cartridges installed in the Rapids™.

    225lbs./102kg (56lbs + 4x safety factor).  Mount the system above or close to a sink. The LabStrong™ Rapids™ Type I Water Purification System will weigh approximately 56lbs./26kg once operating. When the system is on and the pump is running, the Rapids™ will also vibrate.
  • Page 32 LT0033-4 NSTALLATION NSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APIDS CONT STEP 3 | Prepare the Rapids™ system by carefully removing the housing cover and detaching the Display Cable.  The metal housing cover is screwed in and attached to the system for shipping. The metal cover needs to be removed before mounting the unit.
  • Page 33 LabStrong™ Cop. NSTALLATION NSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APIDS CONT STEP 6 | Remove the template and screw in the fasteners that will hold the Rapids™ unit to the wall.  Do not tighten yet. Leave about ¹⁄₂ in. - ³⁄₈ in./1.27 cm - 0.95 cm sticking out of the wall in order to mount the system on top of the fasteners.
  • Page 34 LT0033-4 NSTALLATION NSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APIDS CONT STEP 10 | Reattach the metal housing cover back onto the housing of the Rapids™ unit.  It is suggested that two people perform this task to make it easier to complete.  Once the cover is in place, screw back in the seven (7) Phillips™-head screws to reattach the housing cover.

Unit is equipped with a timed dispense option. User must be aware of flow rate of water so as not to overfill containers and cause spills onto a bench or floor.

This information is associated with the tag for the purpose of enabling the LabStrong™ Link. Information collected at the time of purchase is used by the distributor and manufacturer to provide the user with high quality service.

    ROUBLESHOOTING NOTIFICATION CODES LabStrong ™ Rapids™ Type I Water Purification System will display notification codes to alert you to situa- tions which require your attention. These situations include periodic maintenance tasks, such as replacing cartridge kits, as well as the occasional malfunction, such as a failure of the Rapids™ to read the NFC tag on a cartridge kit.
