Problems with the AV screen
Symptom
CD playback is not possible.
The screen is covered by a
caution message and the
video cannot be shown.
No video output from
connected equipment. No
video output from connected
iPod.
The audio or video skips.
No sounds are produced. The
volume level will not rise.
The picture stops (pauses)
and the navigation system
cannot be operated.
The picture is stretched, with
an incorrect aspect ratio.
iPod cannot be operated.
Problems with the phone screen
Symptom
Dialling is impossible because
the touch panel keys for
dialling are inactive.
Cause
The disc is inserted upside down.
The disc is dirty.
The disc is cracked or otherwise
damaged.
The files on the disc are in an
irregular file format.
The disc format cannot be played
back.
The loaded disc is a type this system
cannot play.
The handbrake lead is not connected
or applied.
The handbrake interlock is activated.
The connection of the USB interface
cable for iPod is incorrect.
The navigation system is not firmly
secured.
Cables are not connected correctly.
The system is paused or performing,
fast reverse or forward during the disc
playback.
The reading of data is impossible
during disc playback.
The aspect setting is incorrect for the
display.
The iPod is frozen.
An error has occurred.
Cause
Your phone is out of range for
service.
The connection between the mobile
phone and the navigation system
cannot be established now.
Action (Reference)
Insert the disc with the label upward.
Clean the disc.
Insert a normal, round disc.
Check the file format.
Replace the disc.
Check what type of disc it is. (Page 117)
Connect the handbrake lead correctly,
and apply the handbrake.
Park your vehicle in a safe place and
apply the handbrake.
Connect both the USB plug and the
RCA cable side. (If only one of these
connection has been made, the iPod
will not work properly.) (Page 24)
Secure the navigation system firmly.
Connect the cables correctly.
For the media other than music CD
(CD-DA), there is no sound on fast
reverse or forward.
Stop playback once, then restart.
Select the appropriate setting for that
image.
• Reconnect the iPod with the USB
interface cable for iPod.
• Update the iPod software version.
• Reconnect the iPod with the USB
interface cable for iPod.
• Park your vehicle in a safe place, and
turn off the engine. Turn the ignition key
back to off (ACC OFF). Then restart the
engine, and turn the power to the
navigation system back on.
• Update the iPod software version.

Retry after re-entering the range for
service.
Perform the connection process.
