• Connect your headset to the 3.5 mm headphone socket (10) on the control unit (22).
• The external speaker is automatically disabled. Slowly adjust the volume to a safe level. The audible signals will
only be played through the headset.
Connecting a headset reduces the power consumption and prolongs the battery life. It also makes it easier
to identify the change in pitch of the audible signals when a metal is detected.

13. Troubleshooting

Problem
False visual or acoustic signals.
The metal detector indicates a
different metal type or the pitch of
the audible tones is not the same.
The audible signals are not
consistent in a fixed location.

Possible cause
The metal detector was
moved too quickly or at
an incorrect angle.
The sensitivity is too
high.
There may be another
metal object in the
detection area.
The detector emits a
false signal for a heavily
oxidised metal.
The ground surrounding
the metal object
contains metal, causing
a halo effect.
Solution
Move the detection probe (1) slowly and hold
the metal detector at the correct angle.
Use the SENSITIVITY dial (8) to adjust the
sensitivity.
Recover the object and search the same area
again.
Use the SENSITIVITY dial (8) to adjust the
sensitivity.
Try adjusting the sensitivity using the
SENSITIVITY dial (8).
