Battery replacement instructions for your Bell Smart Home equipment.
Enclosed you will find the replacement battery for your DSC PowerSeries system and step-by-step instructions
on how to replace it.
Battery Disposal
We encourage you to dispose of your old battery in an environmentally friendly way. For more information
about the designated battery types and recycling depot locations, please visit www.call2recycle.ca.
Safety Warning
Before starting, ensure there are no abnormalities with the new battery, such as a swollen or split case,
liquid leaking from the case, corroded terminals or a high temperature. If you notice any battery abnormalities,
do not use the battery. Contact Bell Smart Home to schedule a service call.
Instructions
Please start by disarming your system.

The door to the box will be secured either by a lock or by two screws fastening the door to the box. Unlock
the box using the key and remove the screws, if present. If you cannot find the key, please
call Bell Smart Home to arrange for a technician to come to replace the battery.

Once unlocked, open the door to expose the large black battery hooked up to the circuit board by a
red and black wire.
5.
Place the new battery next to the battery being replaced.
6.
Slide the connector attached to the black wire off the battery being replaced, and connect it to the black (-)
terminal on the new battery.
7.
Slide the connector attached to the red wire off the battery being replaced, and connect it to the red (+)
terminal on the new battery. Remove the old battery from the metal box.
8.
Plug the alarm system back into the power outlet.
9.
Close the door to the alarm panel and lock the box and/or reattach the screws.
10. Contact Technical Support to confirm the battery replacement was successful and the device is in
proper working order.

Locate the metal box (which houses your alarm system and its backup
battery); it is generally installed in the basement or another room close to
where the keypad is mounted.
2. Locate the plug that powers your alarm system, and unplug it.
The plug is usually in the same room as the security panel, but may also be
in another location nearby. If you cannot find the plug, please call Bell Smart
Home to arrange for a technician to come to replace the battery. Contact
numbers are located at the end of this document.
