Overview OvERvIEW INTROduCTION The 42LB4D is a HD LCD TV with integrated HD tuner. This model will accept 1080p and downconvert it to 1080i. Features include USB Media Host and SimpLink. USB Media Host consists of a USB port on the back of the TV that supports USB flash memory drives loaded with media or firmware for the TV.

Polarizer Color Filters lIquId CRYSTAl dISPlAY A Liquid Crystal Display is composed of a light source Back Light (backlight), a Liquid Crystal Panel, and a driving circuit. We start with a light source at the back of the panel composed of Polarizer thin fluorescent bulbs (CCFLs - Cold Cathode Flouresent Lamps).
TheOry lIquId CRYSTAl PANEl Below (on the left) is a cross section of a liquid crystal panel. The key to an LCD’s operation is the polarizers. The polarizers only allow a certain wavelength of light to pass through. The two polarizers are mounted at a 90 degree angle with respect to each other, which prevents light from passing through.
