1 . Loading the Batteries
Turn the fastening screw counterclockwise with a coin to
remove the battery chamber cover. Use four new AA size
batteries of the same type and brand. The batteries' contacts
should be wiped with a clean, soft cloth before loading to
avoid possible corrosion due to dirt or f ingerprints. Insert the
batteries as indicated by the diagram on the bottom of the
p o w e r w i n d e r , a n d a t t a c h t h e c h a m b e r c o v e r b y t u r n i n g t h e
s c r e w w i t h a c o i n . I n g e n e r a l , n e w a l k a l i n e b a t t e r i e s w i l l b e
abfe to wind about 40 rolls and carbon-zinc about 20 rolls of
3 6 - e x p o s u r e f i l m c o n t i n u o u s l y u n d e r n o r m a l t e m p e r a t u r e .
* AA size Ni-Cd batteries can be used in the Power Winder
42. Use fully-charged batteries and follow the manufac-
t u r e r ' s i n s t r u c t i o n s . F u l l y - c h a r g e d N i - C d b a t t e r i e s w i l l w i n d
a b o u t 6 0 - 8 0 r o l l s o f 3 6 - e x p o s u r e f i l m .
* Load the batteries correctly. lf incorrectly loaded, the bat-
t e r i e s m a y b u r s t a n d l e a k , d a m a g i n g t h e w i n d e r .
* lf the Power Winder 42 will not be used for about three
weeks or longer, remove the batteries from the battery
c h a m b e r l e s t t h e y s h o u l d l e a k .
