BATTERY INSTALLATION
Remove the battery compartment lid; insert 3 C batteries as indicated on the candle bottom/battery
compartment; for best performance, we suggest using only alkaline batteries. Replace and close the
battery compartment lid. It is advisable to place the candle on a soft surface to support it when installing
or changing batteries.
AUTOMATIC TIMER/COLOR SELECTION
Your candle has three activation positions – OFF, 4 Hour and 8 Hour. When in the OFF position your
candle will remain inactive. When the timer position is selected in either the 4 Hour or 8 Hour position at
any given time of the day, the flickering light will turn on and then automatically turn off after the
selected time duration. The following day, if the switch setting has not been modified, the flickering light
will automatically turn on at the same time and will automatically turn off after either 4 or 8 hours
depending on the interval selected.
When first activated in either position, the candle will cycle through its available color spectrum. If you
take no further action the candle will continue to cycle through this color changing sequence until its 4 or
8 hour activation period has ended.
You can also select a color you wish your candle to illuminate. Most colors can be replicated by the
candle, but dark colors and earth tones, such as black, brown, navy blue, tan, or brick red, cannot be
reproduced. A color chart is included with your candle for convenience. The chart contains seasonal color
suggestions that can be used with your Color Scan Candle. You may also use other colors of your choice
if they are a solid block of color and can be laid out evenly on a flat surface.
To select a color, activate your candle per the above instructions. A Scan Push Button is located on the
side of the candle directly above the Activation Switch. While the candle is cycling through its color
changing sequence push it once; the candle will stop sequencing and remain illuminated in one color. An
oval shaped opening is located directly below the Activation Switch on the bottom of the candle; it is the
Scan Window. The color you wish to replicate should be placed on a stable flat surface. Place the Scan
Window over the color you would like to reproduce, and press the Scan Push Button a second time – your
candle should now be flickering in the color you have chosen.
If the candle does not illuminate the color you have selected is too dark to be reproduced by the Color
Scan Candle. If the candle illuminates in white when another color has been selected the color selected is
a light earth tone that cannot be reproduced by the Color Scan Candle
To change starting time or color, cycle the Activation Switch to OFF and back to either 4 Hour or 8 Hour
at the desired time. When changing the starting time you must also select your illuminating color again.
