Part 934-010-31
Vantage PCI International Series
The Vantage PCI board provides four or eight telephony
ports, one-port audio connection, four-port analog bus
connections, and an optional H.100 or MVIP bus.
This installation guide provides information on how to:
Terminate MVIP and H.100 streams
Install your board
Connect telephony, audio, and ABC cables to the
board
Your board might use the following items:
One-port audio cable
ABC cable
MVIP transition module
H.100 cable
ISA chassis adapter
Read the notices regarding regulatory compliance
in the installation and configuration guide that
came with your software.
WARNING:
A small amount of static electricity
can destroy the sensitive components on your
board. To prevent static damage, always connect
yourself to ground using a ground strap before
touching a circuit board. Handle boards only by the
edges or metal brackets. Transport boards in an
anti-static bag.
Terminating MVIP and H.100
Streams
Vantage PCI is compatible with both H.100 and MVIP-
90 CT buses. Both buses can operate simultaneously. In
such a configuration, the Vantage PCI becomes an
TM
H.100 to MVIP-90 bridge. In configurations where both
buses operate simultaneously, put the Vantage PCI
board that bridges between the H.100 and MVIP buses
at one end of the MVIP cable to extend and terminate it.
If there is more than one Vantage PCI board in the
configuration, attach only the board providing the
bridge function to the MVIP bus. Attach all other
Vantage PCI boards in the configuration to the H.100
bus. Set jumpers to enable termination circuits for
boards at the ends of the bus. Do not enable termination
circuits for any other boards. Jumper terminations
shown in Figure 1, Figure 2, and Figure 3 should be
followed for each bus type whether or not the other bus
is in use.
Set jumpers at J2 as follows:
Figure 1
Set jumpers for pins 1 through 10 to control
termination for the H.100 bus, Figure 1.
Set jumpers for pins 11 through 16 to control
termination for the MVIP bus, Figure 2.
Set jumpers for all pins, to terminate both H.100
and MVIP if the board is at the end of both buses,
Figure 3.
Do not set terminations for any boards that are not
at the end of a bus, Figure 4.
